Hi everyone! I guess these are new forums huh? Well A little about me... I am 28 and 1 year ago I was 389 LBS. I had a Sleeve performed in Tijuana Mexico in May of 08 at Hospital Angeles Performed by Dr. Contreras. Now I am 197 And as happy and active as ever, This surgery has truely changed my life! :juggle: I would do it again in a heartbeat. The only downfalls I had was the language barrier but thats ok I was in another country anyways I just learned a few words before I went down haha. The other one is I was promised a DVD of my surgery, I never got it :confused1:. I do have X-rays and things like that but I would have loved to see my DVD. Anyways If any of you have any questions or need support you can contact me at anytime! :confused1:

Congrats on your success. That's an amazing weight loss! I too, wish I could have a DVD of the surgery, but the hospital won't allow it (I guess for liability reasons?) Thanks for sharing!

My doctor promised me he would take pictures of the part of my tummy removed. It would be cool to have a DVD. I'll have to ask him if that is a possibility.

Thanks for sharing your story! It only reinforces what a great tool the sleeve is.

Thanks everyone, Yes it was a success and I cannot wait to hear more success stories. If there was a way to publish photo's I would hehe. I would ask for those photos or DVD's and have them in your hand before you leave, I was told it would be mailed :car: and didnt happen. You will have a rough time adjusting to this surgery as you will no longer feel hunger and it takes a while to get use to. Let me know if I can answer any questions as I have been through it all already :cool0: Best wishes for your new sleeve's :car: talk with you soon.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
