I felt very hungry day 4, so today I made sure to drink more Water more often and it has subsided. Hang in there!

I found that the time during recovery and my first fill was the hardest! Yes the band is in but you haven't reached the green zone yet! Many refer to this as "Bandster Hell!" I had to remind myself frequently why I had this surgery and what my ultimate goal is! This is tough... It's work! Many people think the band is a cure for all the reasons they are overweight! That was the one thing my doctor told me when I chose the band! He said, "You will be hungry and you WILL have to work!" I knew going in I had to follow rules to be successful! Have faith and hold on! Water and gum have become my best friends! It helps to subside the hunger! Good Luck!

keep sipping and remember why you did this..as you heal, you will start to be hungry

keep busy and def use the Protein to aid you here......learning to tell if you are truly hungry or just

thinking you are is crucial.....so use your free foods, (sf popsicles were my savior)

sip and sip more and then some more and stay busy

go read, walk, talk a bath, lay in yard with a book...hang tough, you can do it

Day 4 was about when I started feeling hunger as well. It will get better and YOU CAN do it! I seemed to feel it mostly in the afternoons/evenings the worst. I think I ate about a million popsicles! Ha ha.

Good luck. It's hard but it will get better.

Today is 4 days post op for me, and I too started to feel hungry. My stomach was growling/hurting so bad that it actually woke me up at 5am this morning making noises I have NEVER heard from my body before. I got up and drank a Protein Shake, and then went back to bed. I've noticed all day today that about every 3-4 hours, I've been hungry. It's been better tonight, and I've been trying to drink lots of Water. I go for my first post op visit on Monday, so hopefully they will schedule me for my first fill then.

Congratulations on being on the other side! I can't wait to get there but I can see that this is the hardest time with the tool installed but not adjusted yet and lots to learn. My surgeon suggested that early post-op should be about listening to the body and getting in touch with hunger. I have been looking forward to making friends with my body again. I know it's not going to be easy but once the body is healed and the adjustment is correct (may take a while!), then those signals are going to be really important. Plus they will go away with very little food and won't come back again for 4-6 hours. Sigh. Wish I could fast forward past the surgery and into the green zone but I can see it's going to be an expedition. We will all get there, however -- dedication and perseverance!

The antibiotics gave me this problem. You might check with your doctor as it's not normal

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
