Travel Food

Recommended Posts

Am going on a trip in about 3 &1/2 weeks and am having a hard time thinking of some foods that I can take on the airplane with me. My total trip will take almost 9 hours so I need to take something with me. I have thought that I could take some cheese sticks and nuts but does anyone have any other ideas for what I could take that will meet airline rules? Any ideas are greatly appreciated thanks :)

Sorry I thought of another one lol.

Special K makes 100 calorie snack packs of chips/treats. They'd be another good thing to bring with you for a snack along the way. They're not exactly healthy but they are low calorie and you won't risk getting stuck eating them. They have both chips and pastry crisps, you can find them in the granola bar/cereal aisle of most stores.

I really hope that question was a joke but here is my answer....I feel I need to eat to keep my energy level up and so being on an airplane for hours with my tummy rumbling will not happen and make it even more uncomfortable to b on a cramped airplane.....trying to make my trip a little more tolerable :)

when we travel (to beach a couple hours away) or our lake house for the day or to a bike rally..in my purse, i have always had Protein bars (some are fantastic)...but we take in little baggies or lock n lock (tupperware type) mini's...grapes, carrots, apples, cheese cubes (not all at same time as hub need Snacks too) and they fit in the sissy bag or hubs vest nicely...would think this could fit into your purse or carry on

It will seem expensive but buy some bottles of Water once you are thru security. Sure you can get water on the plane but my long flight was an overnight one and I woke up very thirsty but didn't want to bother the ppl around me. Was very glad to have a bottle of water. Also try to have an aisle seat and make sure you have a barf bag. And if you get stuck just blame it on motion sickness.

I just found some new Protein bars that a really good! They're QuestBar. I've only tried the chocolate chip cookie dough, but they have lots of other flavors. This one has 21 grams of Protein, 17 grams of Fiber, and 190 calories. I looked at the chocolate brownie, which had 170 calories, 20 grams of protein, etc. Here is a link...... I got mine at the Vitamin Shoppe.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
