Thanks for the response Gary! I have been smoke and carb free for a week tomorrow. It sucked the first couple of days but I just keep reminding myself that I AM ready for the changes to come! I think I am going way better with the not smoking than the no carbs...not losing much weight but hopefully enough to keep my surgery date. Going to start the liquid diet tomorrow since my pending date is the 12th (good thing I am not attending any Super bowl parties). Fingers are crossed and lips are shut! LOL

Once again, appreciate the advise Gary! I did the pre registration online this morning. Yesterday was like a mad house in there....the liver class, then seeing Dr. Robbins plus people coming in and out for fills...you would think they would use the conference room next door to do the classes. Just waiting for anesthesia to call and will go pick up my lovenox tomorrow or Monday from the pharmacy. I have had to take it before so the little class Jane or Alta gives will be a refresher! 6 days to go!!!

Well I hope your next fill is more successful for you. How much do they put in at a fill, is it standard or does it varies from person to person?

I have anesthesia this afternoon and then my procedure is only 1 day and a wake away!!! I hope I get to leave the same day but if I have a hiatal hernia, which Dr. Robbins suspects that I do because of the medications I currently take, then I will have to stay over night since that is the only way my insurance will cover it. It doesn't bother me either way, I rather have everything addressed while I am opened up then to have multiple procedures anyway!

I love Dr. Robbins as well. Was banded Jan. 22nd & will be getting 1st fill in a little over a week. I think we have a very good team and are pretty lucky to be working with people who are passionate about understanding the issues of obesity and get the huge component of emotional/addiction eating.

As far as fills go it depends on your weight los or gain i got as much as 2 1/2 c then as low as 1 cc he told me i have a 14 cc band which is a big one so i have plenty of fill room if needed. as of this date i have 5 1/2 cc going on the 19 for another fill plus a i have a few more questions for them. i been getting a real upset tummy no clue why but i am sure they can tell me well let me know how it went and hope you are feeling good

Hey everyone! Surgery went great, had to stay over night because Dr. Robbins did have to repair a hiatal hernia but I am super grateful that it went smoothly. The gas pain is the worst and burping is my enemy but other than that so far so good. I have to remind myself that the scale is not my friend while I am healing (nor is my time of the month but that is just kinda when all this happened). Just hoping to see something positive happen with the numbers in the next few weeks and hoping I get to skip the "bandster hell".

Well i am glad all is good with you as far i am going weight is at a stand still, had a check up and fill today and i gained 2 ounces which i was not thrilled about. so Dr Marker which was there today put another 1.5 cc in for a total of 7 cc in my band hopefully it works better. now i am half full i was told. The scale is not anyones friend for the first few months we all go on it hoping for a micreal happens to some but not others i be happy if i can start to lose 2 pounds aweek or more,

At least your thinking realistically about what to expect this first month. I had mine Jan. 22, did great losing for a bit but got sick with tummy flu and regular flu and that stopped my loss. Even gained 2.2 back but I'm not going to let it control my thoughts and all the positive changes in other ways.

First fill coming March 3Rd, that's when I can start using my toll rather than just healing. Chin up, eat right and heal for now, it will all fall into place.

Great share Gary because it is pretty important to know that your "output" is as regular as your input. I have noticed that I actually feel pretty sluggish and Miralax is my magic bullet.

I get my first fill on the 11th and I am pretty ready for it. I have gone from 267 to 250 for the month of February which is awesome but I can eat way more than I should in order to stay full 3-4 hours. At any rate, school has started for me and I just need make sure I stay on track with eating and get to the gym. Stay positive everyone!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
