Soon we aren't going to say anything of substance because we may offend someone! If a blog bothers me I just delete it. Everyone has an off day once in awhile.

Well said addrienne, and Joanne is right, if I don't like someone's blog, I either delete, or don't bother!

Great post and I agree.

Everyone has an OPINION!! Do you have to agree? NOT AT ALL.

Everyone does have an opinion. Too bad everyone doesn't have common sense!!

This will not be a popular rant....

I'm sorry but when someone posts that they are just a week post op and they just tested their band by eating a large pizza and want to know if they are OK. Then I say let the b***h slapping begin. Not a good attitude I know but when you've read enough of these posts it can be frustrating. I usually sit back and shake my head at the ignorance and then I ask myself did the person not bother to educate themselves or was it the educators who failed them or are they just that out of control with addiction.

People who do not comply and are completely ignorant and are the ones leading to skewing stats as far as success vs. failure and doing a dis-service to themselves and the reputation of the band.

/End of rant

This will not be a popular rant....

Hi Jim, I really have to disagree with you. I think this is going to be a VERY popular rant. Well said! And Adrienne, the lunchmeat comment had me laughing so hard that now all I have to do is think of the word lunchmeat and that's it for me. My husband is calling down from his office, what's so funny? How to explain, but it's all wrapped up in that most predictable of human behaviors: stupidity.

I couldn't think of anything at the time. I was just annoied and lunch meat was the first food that popped into my head. :)

Jim Jim Jim.... Wow, you thief; those were some of my thoughts intermingled in that rant!

--hugs--

Occasionally I will read post to my hubby that the noncompliant bandsters make:

--- last night for supper I had fried pork chops, Mac n cheese, cornbread, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes & a jug of ice cold sweet tea. I chewed really well but i still occasionally felt that pain in my chest and took my time but it took me about an 1 1/2 hours to finish eating my entire meal. I am 1 month post-op and I thought this band was supposed to "make me eat less"? I tried it once, but i just can't live off of 2 cups if food.

First we were shocked & floored!

Then we just would stare at each other like "it's happening again, what is wrong with these people"!

Now, I just shake my head and say "well I guess they aren't as sick and tired of being fat as I am"!

--- hubby says if they would have dropped 10k for their band then maybe they would be more compliant, but that theory has also been disproven.

....carry on....carry on

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
