Survey: How many cc's did you get in your first fill?

Recommended Posts

I'm curious:

How many cc's did YOU get in your first fill?

How many cc's do YOU normally get per fill?

I know every doc and every pt is different, just curious to hear. I'll do some math and put up some averages/statistic etc. after enough people have responded. Yes, I'm a bit of a nerd. Thanks in advance!

I don't know how much I had per fill, but I've only had 2 and I am at 5.3. I don't know if that can help you, but if it can cool.

I had 3 fills for a total of 1.5. I go for another fill in 2 weeks. My last appointment I said no to a fill and I am sorry I refused because I let things get to me and have been bad having ice cream (soft serve-no cone) too often.

3.5cc the first time. Now I typically get .25cc or so.

I have only had one fill of 2ccs since being banded 1/30/12.

I had no fill at the time of surgery, 6 weeks later I got my first fill of 4cc. Since I've had 4 more fills of 1cc each. I am currently at 8cc in a 11cc Realize band and finally feeling restriction and I love it. I generally don't feel anything different after a fill until a week or so later.

I was banded with 3cc's and had another 1cc added 3 weeks after surgery. I felt no restriction and was hungry after that and my doctor added another .5. That's when the problems started - but I know what's wrong. I'm drinking too soon before a meal and sometimes during a meal. I'm going to do right though, I don't want to hurt myself or get unfilled yet. No drinking while eating...I'm learning that really quickly and it's not just because it washes the food down too quickly!

I have a 14cc band with over 14cc of Fluid. I started out with 3cc of priming fluid from surgery. My first fill was 3cc, second fill was 2cc, and third fill was 1cc. I got several fills of around 1cc and then started dropping down to around .5cc or even .2cc as I got closer to my green zone.

3 cc's at time of surgery, and every fill thereafter was a different amount. First fill was 1.2 cc's. second was 1 cc. Third fill was .8 cc's. fourth fill was 2 cc's (thank you different nurse for helping me to get to the green zone faster!). Last fill was .6 cc's. now have a total of 8.6 cc's of Fluid in a 14 cc band

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
