Banded July 8th and won't get my first fill till Aug 27th' date=' and can not come soon enough! Almost feels like I haven't had the band surgery at all! It only talks to me if I eat to fast.[/quote']

I don't know what I would do if I had to wait until then...

I should have posted that I also have PCOS and my doctor is pretty aggressive with me! He wants me to continue losing weight and not stall! I will tell you that getting filled so quick had made me learn my body better! I only have 3 cc's but can only eat about a cup of food at a time! My body lets me know when enough is enough! Learning to listen has been hard! Because I remember how I use to eat and so does my family! Now I hear ... That's not enough ... You're going to starve! I can't win for losing! But I will get there! And so will they! I will say that getting didn't stop me from being hungry! So may e I am not in my green zone yet! Good luck all! Fills are in your future!

Sorry to hear about your PCOS. Would prefer to eat less than more, hence why I got the surgery. Lol. I think if I can talk my doc into a filling a little more, I should be good. Good luck to you but it sounds like you're doing great!

The last couple of days I have not been the best about my diet. Yesterday I could not get satisfied. Today was better but I feel no restriction since the swelling has gone down. I do get fuller faster but don't really stau that way long. Pretty much only if I drink fast does I even know its there. I get my first fill in a week. I hope this gets better after a fill. I am still under my calories and tracking everything but I am frustrated because I am not losing and I have been exercising too. Ok I am done whining now. Just a little discouraged tonight.

God, I think we've all been there. I know I can way too much and it doesn't last as long as it should. You're not whining. I know I have had depressing moments.

I'm glad I read these posts. I was Banded (3+ weeks ago - on July 17th) and feel great, but I am starting to get hungry and I am not feeling satisfied as fast as I was since the surgery. I haven't weighed myself in weeks because I had read here how many people were frustrated post-op/pre-1st fill that I decided to not get frustrated this early on as I was already in a weird post-op place.

I have now had 2 "stuck" moments that were not fun but I was really relieved to know that I didn't panic like I thought I would - for some reason, I thought that if you had a stuck episode that you couldn't breath and that freaked me out. You can breathe but it is still really damn awful to have to deal with and figure out how to help it pass quickly. Both times it was because I ate too much/too fast - like a normal pre-op bite. It was miserable and not something I want to repeat but at least it was panic attack inducing which is what I thought would happen.

Now my nerves are what to expect post-my first fill. I go on Tuesday morning for my first post-op appointment and then go to the other location for my first post-op fill. I hope that it isn't as miserable as some people had reported - but then again some people seem to report that once they get their first fill that weight really starts to come off (which is what were are all here for!) and that it isn't that miserable. Here's hoping!

Thanks for everyone sharing their stories - this forum has brought me so much peace of mind and knowledge.

My first fill was done unexpectedly so I didn't have time to be nervous! Honestly for me is was a breeze! My doctor found the port... All I felt was a little needle pinch and within a few seconds he was done! I drank some Water and sent home!

Mine was pretty much the same but I knew he was going to do it. I wasn't worried about it though, I wanted it.

I'm on soft foods right now and I feel like I could eat every couple hours I am starving. So today I had a break down and don't know if I could do this and maybe I shouldn't of done it I had my cry but people keep reassuring me that once I can introduce food back into my life I will get full and once I get the band filled it will help even more.

My fill isn't until September 10. But my doctor gets a visit from me tomorrow even though I seem him last week...I think one of my incisions is infected and for some reason I'm having really bad stomach pain so guess we shall see what happens

I go for my first fill next Monday, the 19th, and I can't wait! I have started having more and more hunger and feel like I'm eating more too. Weight loss has really slowed down. This Thursday will be 4 weeks since my surgery. Ready to really get going again. I have no idea how much he will put in my band though.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
