I was never one to worry about my burping, but this is ridiculous! Lol! I think I've found my soft stop because right around the time I've eaten enough I belch. Loud! Then I proceed to belch, loud, for the next hour or so. Is this normal?

From what I've read, that is completely normal. I burp more often and louder than I use to and according to the post I've read it is common. Your right it probably is your soft stop also.

Yes, I'm usually good for about 2 more bites after that. It's nice to have a signal :-)

Yes, I definately burp more often. Especially in the beginning. It seems to have gotten a little better now though.

Thank god I haven't felt any heartburn!!! Try using Gasx. It totally works for me. Gets me going both directions.

I don't 'burp" anymore, its more like this weird noise lol that is close to a burp. We call it a hicburp in my house now and my kids think it the best new sound.

I burp constantly especially after eating... Luckily it's not not a full out belch as I try to be somewhat lady like... I've gotten so use to it I don't realize I'm doing it anymore. I hope I don't let it loose at work. How embarrassing! I was banded June 14th and my doc said it would go away eventually. We shall see :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
