Exercise Today

Recommended Posts

Ouch Tricia. My back is giving me the sh*ts today too so I went for a swim. I think I have been doing too much running, and have to be realistic about how much and how far my body can handle.

So I went for a swim and was blown away to almost effortlessly swim 1.5kms (60 laps). I took my pulse a few times and it was 150 - and yet I felt like I was having a splish splash. Same when I run now, I can chat away like I'm not even exercising yet my heart rate is 150 bpm. That's a great measure of increasing fitness.

I've been wanting to rollerblade the local 19.4 mile rail trail. I rollerbladed the whole thing. :)

WooooW I am impressed. :)

When I'm out walking I see a few rollerbladers and all I can think is how great that exercise is for your calves and thighs, inner, outer, quads and hamstrings.

19.4 miles you should be in pain today. LOL

Went to the gym last night, I am taking a break tonight. I have to watch "Workout" on Bravo and then the season finale of "Real World"... wish I could snack while watching them, but I had a fill yesterday and I am on liquids for 4 days....

Rode the same 12 mile course tonight....I am keeping the mileage the same and trying to up the intensity and cover the same distance in shorter time. Tonight was my fastest night so far with an average speed of right at 15 mph for the 12 miles.

First night started out with an average speed of right about 9-10mph so the improvement is coming rapidly.

I am going to get about a month worth of base miles in to build basic endurance and then add distance and interval training to build power and muscle.

Wow. I am so out of the loop!!!

It's freaking cold here. I don't understand how it was 114 a month ago and now 70. WIERD!!! I walked and walked and ran and walked around 10, maybe more vineyards at work today. I'm not sure if my legs are still attached. Oh wait, thats DIRT everywhere. I guess they are. I'm going to try to go to the gym tomorrow. Its been too long, and I'm not losing. Need to refocus!!!

WELCOME BACK TELLY!!!! WE MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!! I HOPE YOUR BREAK WAS GOOD FOR YOU. We missed you and your kick ass motivation. I think it makes people realize how influential others are. I hope you are well.

........ I have to watch "Workout" on Bravo and then the season finale of "Real World"... ....

escunder012004 I love to Workout and I appreciate that they have the heavy girl on their who didn't want to have GB. She cried and threw up after her first workout. I really don't need the drama of their lives, I could just watch the person trainers teach the classes or individual clients.

I really do love to work out at the gym but I don't like it when there are too many super fit people there. I get perinoid and think of negative thoughts about me that they may have. *silly* Once my Monday night exercise class is over I will join the womens weight training class at my rec center. I did that about 2 years ago and loved it. We had a great instructor. The class will be Mondays and Wednesdays, I can't wait.

I didnt do anything yesterday or today either, I still have a really sore back. Its hard to go for a swim becuase most days I still have a 3 year old hanging out with me, so that's why I like to run on my treadmill. But I think by tomorrow surely my back will be better enough to run. It was weird, started with sore ankles, then my knees got sore, then my lower back got bad, with sciatic pain and now I have an unbelievably tender mid back. Its like it's moved up my body. I'll probably have a sore neck tomorrow and then be better, lol.

Tonight - 2.5 hours of bowling

Ok, this was my intention but because of my back still hurting, I only bowled 1 out of 3 games.

I'm doing half an hour of Jane Fonda aerobics... I've been doing it daily for over a week, and I'm seeing results already. This is the first real commitment I've made to seriously exercise in years. So far so good. I've lost 4 of the 20 plus pounds I'd regained!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
