So I had my first fill yesterday. He put in 4cc right now I can't really tell a diff probably becuz I'm back to liquids but I hope the 4cc helps.... Anyway I asked my dr if I should be measuring my food, and he told me no!? He said don't measure, buy a smaller plate eat your Proteins first if your still hungry eat the veggies. But I never thought of it the way he explained. If you out a little food in a big ol plate you feel deprived. But in a much smaller plate it looks full and your brain will think you have a nice full plate if food! I thought it was a pretty cool idea!

MY nutritionist advised me the same back 4 years ago. I have used a small plate since then. It is the best thing I can add for you! Also, I use a salad fork to eat with.

I love all the little pointers people give me! It always helps to prepare! My friend even brings a small 3oz bowl and some other things with her. She keeps it in a small bag in her purse, so when she goes out to a friends house she never feels like she over eats, that is just her way of tracking things and it seems to be working! I've just recently went to the store and got some tiny plates etc! I'm excited!

Another tip is whatever plate you use just make sure that instead of taking heaping portion just make sure you spread it around the plate and make it appear thatt you have alot of food but you really don't

The other tip is to make sure and chew chew and then chew but more importantly put the fork down and engage in some conversation. if I keep the fork in my hand I tend to eat allot faster and want to add more food to my plate.

My best tip...have kids that demand all your attention so you can't eat anyway. :P

I need to invest in a few dessert plates. I use salad plates now, but they are still really big and sometimes I get that longing to just fill'er up!

I have been using a salad plate and salad fork since returning to regular foods after having my band placed. I've gotten so accustomed to the smaller sizes, the regular dinner plate and forks seem huge to me.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
