What are Papaya Pills and where can I get them?

I've heard many comments about papaya pills. They sound like they are great when food gets stuck. What are they and where can I get them?

You can get chewable papaya pills at your local health food store. The brand I use also has bromelain which is the same ingredient used in meat tenderizer. I have used these pills about six times and have come unstuck every time so far (knock wood) instead of PB'ing.

Ok I just bought them. Do you just chew them right after a meal that gets stuck? How many are you suppose to chew? How fast are the results? By the way thanks.

When I was in GNC buying Isopure protein drinks, the clerk gave me a free sample of papaya enzyme chewable tablets to try, so I know they sell them at GNC.

I bought some at Walmart last night... I have yet to try them, but I sure am curious!

I read about papaya enzyme pills many many months ago on this website and they have been a life saver for me. I got stuck many times eating out and it is very embarrassing as well as scary to get stuck out in public, I got up went to ladies room chewed about 3 of these pills and took a brief walk and within 10 minutes the food had passed and I was ready to go home. I strongly recommend them as an alternative to pb'ing everytime you get stuck. Much safer and easier and I believe less wear and tear on the band. They are usually cheap about $5.00 for 100 pills, which I do not use on a regular basis so they last a long time. I Keep some home, at work and in my purse.

Ohhhhhh, I cannot wait to get some of these! Thanks for the info!

What is pb'ing?

Productive burping. I'm SO glad I read this thread, I'm def. going to get some of these pills.

A word of caution, some papaya pills taste great (GNC) and some are AWFUL!!! I bought some from Puritan's Pride mail order vitamins because they were a good value. NOT!!! I ended up throwing them away. Also, get them on board as soon as you get stuck because they work best taken as soon as possible. Good luck on your use of them
