Ok....to all the seasoned bander on here...I have a few questions

1) My surgery is on a monday (8 Jul) and I was planning on returning to work the next monday....is that feasible?

2) One question I forgot to ask the NP at my last appt. Did you have to stay overnight or was yours done as same day?

For both questions, just remember everyone is different and each surgeon has their own protocol. With that being said, I had surgery on a Monday and was back to work the next Monday. I thought I would go back within 3 or 4 days but NO WAY! I was pretty fatigued the day I went back, but I think that was because of my low number of calories and protein I was consuming. I did not have to stay the night. From what I hear on LBT, most lapband patients don't have to spend the night in the hospital. Good luck! It's all worth it!

Every surgeon is different. My surgery was outpatient... surgery in the am and home by noon. Depending on how strenuous your job is one week should be OK. If there is a lot of lifting involved, you may need a bit more. Get a recommendation from the doctor at surgery.

I would say your healing will be individual. But, 1 week seems to be okay. My son was out over the weekend, but then on light duty until approved to go back to regular work by surgeon. He works lifting heavy loads. As far as surgery, my insurance demanded overnight stay, otherwise it would have been in/out surgery. Bets wishes for great healing. Mostly, going back to the time off, make sure that you can get up and walk, at times. Karen

My surgeon required an overnight stay, and two full weeks out of work to give your body time to heal.

My Dr.told me I could go back to work on Monday after having surgery on Friday. So I did wish I had taken a week off.
