Maggie: I wouldn't worry about it just yet. Right now you're working on getting enough nutrition' date=' Protein, fluids. Since your menu choices are so limited, at the moment, seriously.. don't worry about it. Right now it's not about calories. It will be later.. but, for now, enjoy your Tomato soup![/quote']

Thank you :) I've had such a rough couple of days since I transitioned to full liquids. I lost my hunger sensation so idk when to eat and when I was allowed to start having yogurt and Soup, I started mindlessly eating again and now the scale is jumping up again instead of down. So I'm beating myself up. But yeah...tomato soup! Tonight I made myself an unprocessed batch. It's brewing now. Recipe is:

5 lbs fresh crushed tomatoes

3 tbs butter

1 cup chopped onion

1.5 tsp sea salt

Blend all ingredients until smooth and cook for three hours.

No added sugar! Yay! Hopefully it satisfies my craving :)

Don't bet yourself up. Try and get into a schedule like u did pre op. try ad stick wih band sized portions even tho it will mostly be white knuckle will power for now. And I have heard lots of ppl see the scale jump post op from Water weight and then when switching to real food. It will come back down. Just focus on healing and making good decisions with what you can put in your body.

Anyone just banded having trouble sleeping? It's not fully discomfort - I'm just not sleepy. The nurse here at the hospital keeps telling me the morphine will make me sleepy but that just isn't happening :(

Hi ladies I was banded yesterday at 945. Pain afterward was not bad the worst part was getting the iv no lie. I I my have a gas bubble in lower abdomin and walked about 30 min. My main complaint is that I can't pee. I only was able to pee 100 cc last night and 100 cc this morning at 4am. I had a catheter done twice. I'm supposed to go home today but I need to owe naturally. Pain waking up at 4 was awful. That's because I was unable to hit my medication button. I'm on morphine drip that I can hit button every ten minutes. They also have me a cup of Water with sponge swabs for dry mouth. Dry mouth is the worst dry mouth u will ever have. Pieces of my Lips are literally coming off. Bring Chapstick. I have had hiccups a few times and they suck but pain is not killer... Then again I'm on morphine. Ill have Percocet and delotin when i go home. Seriously this was 99% easier and less stressful than I imagined. Day nurses were wonderful night nurses awful. I also am hot as anything in room. My father brought me his ryobi fan that's portable and runs off ryobi tool batteries that is keeping me calm and cool. Also I had to request ear plugs the noise in hospital is awful things are constantly beeping! My room ate is from my town and actually lives two minutes from me so we will switch contact info. She is a lovely woman that had the sleeve done. Ladies I am truly happy and so surprised how well everything went. I was exhausted yesterday but couldn't sleep and seriously was the devil no lie. Like I said I have been on morphine and didn't pass out because I had pee urges and they were keeping me up along with noise. Once I demanded a catheter after 11 hours on not peeing I was able to relax. Totally recommending this surgery it was so worth it! Again in short... Bring Chapstick, ear plugs, fan (if you are someone that needs to be cool while sleeping or likes a noise maker) and request mouth wash and sponge for ur mouth immediately... Just don't swallow. Wish you all the best of luck I will keep you al updated and in my thoughts and prayers!!

Glad u are doing well on the whole, winkie! I also requested a fan. I could t sleep at all. Partly b/c it is so bright in my room from the hallway lights. I would add an eye mask to the list and also a sports bra if you are large chested. One of my breasts was pressing on an I incision and my sis brought over a pull over racerback sports bra that has helped a ton. I'm actually surprised I haven't seen this come up before since I'm guessing I am not the first with this issue.

I have peed lots and walked lots and very little gas pain (so far). Mainly incision pain and headache. Still feel great about this decision!

Asked my surgeon - he said there is just one standard size realize band and that is what I got. That there used to be a smaller and larger size and now they just use the larger. Also I have no fill to start with - had read some ppl get a small amt of fill in surgery.

Just waiting in upper GI and then can get discharged. Ice pack on my belly is my new fave thing. Basically had it on for the last 16 hrs.

Glad you're doing well I didn't ask for ice on belly I guess I should

It is worth trying. Also mint tea is helping my throat a lot.

I didn't / barely slept at the hospital. The morphine made me groggy but not sleepy. I noticed if I laid down my tummy was brewing bubbles n when i got up I was burping and having hiccups as I was walking it off.

I'm 2 days post op and not doing too bad. My belly is pretty sore, especially when I get up after sitting/lying for a while, but other than that I'm good! No gas pain yet, nausea has gone away too. I have also had an ice pack on my belly since I got home from the hospital yesterday afternoon, it's helps a lot! I'm definitely going to be keeping ice on it for awhile. The worst part is that I am feeling hungry!! I did not think I would be hungry this soon, but I definitely am. I woke up early this morning because of hunger pains and have sipped Water and juice but am still hungry. Guess ill just have to tough it out!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
