Have had a few deep chest coughs with phlegm but otherwise the most painful thing is when I'm standing up or sitting down. If I m laying still or walking I'm mostly ok. There is also this interesting hiccup burp that hurts a little but afterwards I feel so much better.

I coughed like that all day yesterday. Today not so much

I would encourage you to call your doc and let him/her know the current pain management they have you on isn't working. The oxycodone I have is similar - it is acetomeniphan with a narcotic - just a diff one than codeine.

I took my dads Percocet and that made a huge difference instead if taking my pill at 730 I took half of my dads wasn't sick to my stomach and took the other half at 830....what a huge difference I was able to walk more which made my back feel better and was burping more. The pain medicine made a world of a difference. Also my dad pulled out a walker he used after a back surgery and that's fantastic so much easier going potty and stuff. I'm on the dining room chair now cause its straight with a heating pad on my lower back... Ill move it to my shoulders soon cause they are sore. The gas pain sucks but the pill really helped the soreness and gas pain. We moved our chaise lounge into the back family room and we are all watching george Zimmerman.. Finally some relief. I plan to take another Percocet at 12 and hopefully sleep through the night. When I pee it's very clear so I'm not dehydrated. Had a few sips of broth and Water today. Also had a sugar free ice pop. About to have some Jello. Eating feels weird and it doesn't hurt but it's like i feel it travel and its a little discomforting so I stop... Also this may be gross but after I pee I'm having a hard time wiping because all my gas pain is in my way lower abdomen. I been using cleenex wet wipes and can't wait to shower. Sorry I'm gross but I'm finding that to be the most difficult task.

This morning was god awful afternoon okay later afternoon sucked... Finally feeling like a human this heating pack is my new best friend... Didn't do ice on belly my incisions don't hurt and if anything I put heating pad on lower abdomen for the gas pain. I really hope I sleep well. I have a fan next to my lounge, ear plugs, walker, Water, and gas x strips. I swear my dad set me up better than the nurses I have an insane pee story. This is what I sent to my friends father who happens to be a chiropractic surgeon at the hospital I stayed at...

I also didn't see any doctors today which pissed me off only nurses and the one Aide i wanted to punch in the face she kept saying I only had 120ml of pee in my bladder cause she scanned and that I was too soon for a catheter and I was crying saying j had so much pee in me I was uncomfortable so I begged the rn and she got 450 ml out of my which is a super full bladder ... Happened twice the dumb aide refused to get the woman for the catheter both times she said I had like 125ml and they got over 400 the second time and who begs for a catheter? Wouldn't that make u think that person really has to pee.... Also asked for pain meds they said no because people get addicted I was like I got surgery yesterday ....

I'm feeling good. I am the registrars secretary at a high school. I'm pretty much working solo this summer which is a good thing. Students and staff are going to be shocked when they see me August 28. I'm already a diva but now I'm in super diva mode. Are you feeling any better?

I had surgery Thursday. Gas pains go and come. My port is on my left side under my arm. Pretty tender. I have been eating Jello, half sf and half regular and drinking broth. Also Gatorade helps because it's not sf so I don't get dizzy. I'm on hydrocodone. I have a reletex band on for nausea and motion sickness patch. I haven't lost any weight yet or had a bm... Is this normal? I take gasx and walk around the house. Gas pain mostly in right shoulder.

I actually slept multiple hours! I can't wait to feel better ladies. I told most people gallbladder surgery because that requires a pre op diet similar incisions and people lose weight usually getting it out. I can't wait to be skinny I just had a dream and I was thinner in it and it wasn't a dream about me being skinny... So ready to feel good about myself... Kbush I'm a diva too hahaha even though I have a chubby belly I was and am a diva haha!!!

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣
