I had my surgery on Dec 10, 2012, but now 5 months later I am not loosing weight. I go down 7pound and then gain it back over 2 or 3 days ever dropping below that 7 pounds. What am I doing wrong?? I can hardly eat, vomit daily, usually 4 or more times a day. It's usually clear liquid and can happen even with just drinking Water. Has anyone else had this issue???

Also I had my last fill over month ago and this problem only started 2 an half weeks ago...

Vomit? As in full blown hurling, or just regurgitating, or PBing?

i would call you doctor and see what he says. i didnt lose weight until my band was properly adjusted. each person is different but your situation doesnt sound healthy if you are "expressing" that often in a day. also depends on what you are eating as well.

Also I have appointment to see my doc in a week he's on vacation this week...it's only been since the 10th that this started before I was fine able to eat several small meals a day and no problems. Do you think maybe my ban slipped??

Slip, dilation? Something's wrong? Get in as soon as you can and try to stick to foods that won't irritate the band and cause more vomiting.

It sounds like you could be too tight, and it doesn't necessarily happen immediately after a fill, scar tissue can and does build up under the band producing a tighter feeling. If and when you can drink something without vomiting try something warm first then Protein, shake or Water. sometimes it helps to just sip sip sip. Please keep us posted !!

You need to get I'm sooner if you can. Vomiting daily and.keeping nothing down is a recipe for complications..... Good luck.

Well I do burp if I drink anything...I am thinking this is a combo of things...i was out of town at work when it started and may have picked up a virus too. I find today has been the worst, couldn't even keep down a slice of cheese and I usually can eat that...if I drink anything it bubbles back up and I end up loosing that too. It's getting worse by the day...have headaches and vertigo horribly. Thanks for all the advice and comments. Might have to go to ER if I can't keep hydrated.

Could be a virus or bowel obstruction or possibly Something wrong with your band. Make sure to go to er if you can't keep liquids down. Will cause dehydration which leads to acute renal failure.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
