Discomfort Still? For the ladies

I got my band April 26 2013 and i also had a hernia repaired. In having some trouble wearing my bras and been having to wear sports bras (cause they don't have wire) but i also noticed that like if i bend forward the area below my breast and just above my belly I'm having a little pain... Is this normal ladies?

I don't think this is gender specific, I just think you're still tender from surgery. It hasn't even been a month so just go easy on yourself and give yourself more time to heal.

Best wishes.

For a period of time, I also had a problem with bras (mine also have underwire). Sometimes I'd just pull the damn thing off, because I felt like I couldn't breathe; the pressure from the bottom part of the bra. Now, at 7 weeks out, I rarely have this issue anymore.

FYI - I had lap band with plication, a hernia repair, and my gallbladder removed. I couldn't really tell what part of the surgery was causing what, but I actually did ask the bra question somewhere in my historic posts on this site; I think I responded to someone asking about the best sports bras. Never did get an answer, so I guess it's just you and I having the problem :P

Thanks so much for the responses... Figured I would ask since my follow up is still a week away.

I had the bra issue too. Mine would not fit for at least a week after surgery!

I guess it's gender-specific only in that most men don't wear bras!

Otherwise, sounds perfectly normal to me, too.

I had the same problem. I stayed home the first week and just didn't wear a bra. Hard when you are a 44F, but it really helped. The pain lasted longer from that higher incision then the lap band area. It will get better!
