June 10th for me! Getting there. Good luck. :)

How did today go Kim? Not to bad for me. I'm having a shake and some broth for dinner :-) Looking forward to my sugar free Popsicle later.

Not so bad, just had a shake for dinner. Maybe some Jello or Popsicle later. I haven't felt hungry. How about you?

I haven't really been hungry either. A few times maybe a little, but it was time for another shake anyway. I blended a chocolate with ice and coconut extract just now and was really good! Good luck on day 2!

I start Friday but my surgery is the 13th too:)

Good luck on day 1 tomorrow!

Oh that sounds good. I was just brainstorming on what I could mix with it. Good luck to you also!

Hey all, we have 4 heading into surgery next week! Good luck Rgreen99, Hollyrobyn, New.me.for.40, and Tweentyone! Woohoo!!

For my preop I was given bariatric advantage. Anyone else used this? I need ideas. I've never mixed my own before. I have always bought premixed.

I'm using Optifast. They are like juice boxes, so they're pretty easy. I mixed a chocolate one with a cup of espresso today and it was pretty good. Experiment with extracts. I like coconut and peppermint. Be careful though, I overdid the peppermint the first time and had to throw it away :-)

I'm scheduled for June 14th. Good Luck everyone!!!

We have the same Dr on the same day!!! :)

Day 3 of pre-op and I'm hanging in there, but am kinda of wishing I could have something to chew on. I am not hungry so it is all mind over matter!! I am drinking several shakes a day (EAS, not Optifast as others I see from the same practice). I'm also having a jello or popsicle here and there... any other suggestions? On a good note, I'm down 7lbs already.

Can you have broth and tea? Sometimes just the warm liquid is change enough. I just had a cup of broth mixed with a cup of Water and it made me happy :-) This is day 3 for me too and I was down almost 5 this morning. It helps for motivation.

Time4kim, I think i remember Tina saying the shake depends on the doctor. I have Aguila. Do you go to the Tampa office?

Question, I have been advised by my nutritionist and surgical coordinator that I do not need to do a pre-op diet except the day prior to only have clear liquids. It seems as if everyone is on a pre-op liquid diet. Am I the only one that surgeon doesn't require that? And if that's the case, I'm wondering why?

I started doing the shakes and broth anyway to try and get ready for the post-op and hope to shrink my appetite .

I still wonder if anyone else was told this and why don't I need to have the pre-op diet ??

I've noticed throughout the site that the pre-op diet varies from 1day to 3 weeks depending on the surgeon. It certainly won't hurt you to try to get used to liquids before you go in though. Good luck on the 6th! I go the following week, so I'm looking forward to your advice :-)
