Loose Skin Anyone?

Recommended Posts

Since my surgery, I've lost 40 lbs and so far (thank God), no saggy skin. But I am very concerned about this becoming a problem as I lose more weight. I mentioned this to my doctor and they recommended three things: Drink LOTS of Water, Walk & Moisturize your body DAILY. Well... I have found an amazing product that can help with the third item. It's called Body Dew Bath Spray. It is an awesome smelling spray that makes baby oil obsolete! You know how you put baby oil on after a shower and you rub and rub and it never seems to soak into your skin? Then you end up with an oily mess on your clothes? Body Dew Spray does NOT do that. It actually SOAKS into your skin because it's made from Carnation oil. The molecules in Carnation oil are much smaller than those of regular baby oil therefore allowing it to penetrate the skin and not just sit on top. If anyone is interested, or want further info., please PM me! I just LOVE this stuff. Happy moisturizing! :clap2:

The skin is the largest organ in the body and the best way to keep it from sagging is to keep yourself well hydrated. Thanks for the tip!

I've lost 73 pounds and hydrate my body on a daily basis. I have loose skin on my inner thighs and a bit on my belly. There are so many things that contribute to whether or not you'll have loose skin - genetics, how long you've been heavy, how heavy you are prior to surgery, skin elasticity, etc.

I imagine I'll have a thigh lift at some point. If other things are needed, I'm sure I'll have them done as well. However, I'm going to wait until I get closer to my goal weight before I start making appointments to see a plastic surgeon.

Thanks for the tips.

My doc suggested using radio frequency to tighten the skin if there isn't too much loose skin. It's something like Thermage, the non-surgical facelift.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
