So I have not had my surgery yet im anticipating in june but I currently try to eat 3 (400 cal)meals per day with 3 (200 cal) Snacks per day total cals 1800 with exercising 45 mins 4 x a week....this is the amount of cals my dr put me on for my 6 month diet...i want to cut this down alittle I never eat 1800 cals I stay around 1300 to 1600 depending on the day but my question is how many meals do you eat daily? In my lap band book it says 2 meals and 2 snacks or 3 meals and 1 snack per day im just wondering what everyone else does im trting to prepare now and my dr said to try 4 meals per day with maybe 1 snack. After surgery how many calories are you allowed? I believe its 1000 just wana make sure and see how you all break.it down for meals like each meal 300 cals then 1 100cal.snack? Or do you do it diffrent? Any suggestions???

each dr and each person is different.

i eat when i am hungry in my allotted amounts. sometimes it could be 3 meals a day and then some it could be 2....i snack but its a Protein filled item or some fruit..your doctor and nutritionist will offer you what they think works for you.what works for me may not work for you or be what your doctor wantsyou to do....its kinda hard as variances with food/people are so different to give you an exact calorie count etc....my suggestion is to ask alot of questions, and follow your doctors suggestions. best of luck.

Every day for me is different in terms of calories and meals, but the most common thing I've found is my meals get bigger throughout the day.

I eat when I am hungry. That is usually 3 meals a day and maybe 2 Snacks, but I can only get in 900 calories. I am never really hungry anymore, so sometimes it is hard to get all the calories in. Hope this helps.

Seven weeks ago, I had my 5th fill and I am assuming, I am at my green zone. I can literally go 12 hours without thinking or wanting food. Over spring break last week, I never felt so happy to be on vacation and never had to think about when was my next meal, snack, etc.

I'm new here (only been banded since the 28th of March) but other than right now while my hernia and stomach are healing my doctors ultimate instructions are to simply eat ONLY when hungry. Obviously if your not hungry at all that's a bit of a problem hints why during the first few weeks your on a mandated 4oz 3x a day (at least I am) my surgeon is fantastic and his office answers any questions I have. A good surgeon will support you and help you figure it all out. Like everyone has said. Each person is different. Best of luck to you!!

It's best to consult your doctor or nutritionist. We all have different plans. Generally, 3 meals and 1-2 Snacks work for me.

I agree that your Nutritionist and Doc are the best guides to go by.

With that said I can go 5 hours between meals if I needed to. I eat 3 meals a day with one of them being a Protein shake. Getting in your daily Protein is very important. I do not snack at all nor do I get the cravings or head hunger that I once had. As for calorie count I don't worry much about it and my Nutritionist tells me not to worry about that part either. You cannot base your daily caloric intake as that of an Un-banded person. You simply cannot take in those high amount of calories once you hit the green zone. I average any where from 800 to 1200 calories daily. I know people are going to post after me and dispute the calorie part and that is fine. Everyone is entitled to opinions but as long as my weight is coming off and my Nutritionist is happy then I don't sweat the small stuff. Work with your Doc, Nutritionist and Band and do what works for you.

I'm going to post after you to say I agree haha. My doctor told me that my only job in all this is to eat properly, aka skip the junk foods, exercise, and eat when hungry. He said by no means should I be aiming for any certain calories like I did before. As long as I'm happy and my numbers (blood work) reflect that I am okay. :) best of luck to everyone!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
