I'm so angry with myself...

Recommended Posts

So I had my second fill this past Tuesday and I'm not feeling full or anything...I'm so angry with myself cause I'm still eating until I get sick then I try to throw it up and nothin comes up...I had a break down today cause I'm so mad I hate myself. I thought I could do this but guess I don't have the power I thought I had. The scale is what is triggering me maybe I need to throw it away!! Grrrr

Hello butta. First let me start with this- I am one hundred percent totally on your side. Now lets talk this through, you had your second fill. You are not feeling full. That's not all you. The band has to work first. As for will power- I'd say most of us are in the same boat. Or we wouldn't be here. The scale? I think that is my worst enemy too. The cause for my eating disorder when younger. I hate scales. You can do this. And I will do whatever I can to help. Talk to your doc. Make sure all is well. And than lets take this one day at a time. I'm here if you ever want to vent or chat or just laugh with. Best of luck.

Don't get discouraged so soon. I'm 3 1/2 years post banding and I still am learning! Some folks take a long time to get to proper restriction, and until you do, its really willpower...a diet. Try to follow your surgeons advice as best you can. Try slowing down your eating, chewing really well. Maybe hiding that scale for a couple of weeks is a good idea for you.

I promise, this band does work! It takes a while for some, like me. You really can do this....never, ever give up! :)

Sorry you are having trouble. First of all you do not want to be full. If you are full you have eaten too much. For me learning what it feels like to be satisfied is often a work in progress and I am four years out. I find the best thing for me is to measure my food so I know when to stop. Trust me it does get better. Try to keep yourself busy after you eat and remember it takes about 20 minutes for your brain to register the food you have eaten. Sometimes I take a five minute break half way through a meal especially if I am really hungry starting off. Hang in there.

I agree with everyone above....take it day by day. My concern is that you are eating until you feel sick each time and that scares me. Maybe if you know you will be tempted to keep eating, try and measure out your 1 cup of food and bring only that to the table? Or do a re-set and start with mashed foods for a few days agian? Hang in there!

You are never going to get that Thanksgiving kind of full.

The LB is a whole different dish of fish.

yes, if you are eating until you feel full, you are going to get sick and hurt everytime.

Don't get down on yourself. This is a huge learning process. I know ppl at goal that still make mistakes.

Give it time!

Measure your alloted amount until you know for sure what that looks like. Eat slow, 1min between swallowing and next bite, which means put your fork down. Stop at 20 mins whether you're done or not.

Those are the LB rules.

Good luck

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
