New but Old...

Recommended Posts

I need some advice, I had my lap band for 7 years, I have been on a roller coaster ride since. I lose the weight, weight come back etc...when I started back in '06, my goal was to lose 95 lbs. 7 years later, I need to rid of 60 lbs. My Dr.suggested a sleeve revision because my band is tilted, I've been waiting on approval for months and decided to just do this on my own, but it is very challenging, and I'm not so sure if the sleeve is the route I should take. Any suggestions??? °_°

I would suggest you ask the folks on the sleeve forums, link at bottom of page.

I was banded in '06 also. I have had some ups and downs. I noticed that when I stopped going to the surgeon for my regular visits I slid backwards. Did you ever get proper restriction? When you noticed you were able to eat more did you go for your fills? This is where I failed my band!

That's when the tweaking begins! Can get tedious but worth the effort!

"Tweaking" should have been done by your doctor if the band is okay. Some fills of .3 to .5cc might have done the trick. Too many doctors think we need instant weight loss, so they give 1.5cc or more. This is okay at the beginning if you can swallow, but as you take in fills, they should tweak them in. Your body should tell you and you must tell the doctor on any tightness, discomfort or any other pains you experience.

Best wishes

No I didn't get the proper restrictions, as a matter of fact 1 year in and had only gotten 2 fills

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
