I think dr Berger in flagstaff is the best I have heard of I have seen him post op.. But I have friends who reccomend him, and they run a business that help people get the surgery, and find good dr's!

Klynn, I am VERY interested in a support group!!!! PLEASE let me know when and where and I will be there with bells on. I had my surgery in Flagstaff but I live in Pinedale just around the corner from you. :)

As for your question about Dr. Berger? I LOVE HIM AND THINK HE IS THE BEST!! But I think most Bandsters love their surgeons and think they are the best. ;) I trust everything he says! He had always been streight forward with me. He and his office staff are very helpful and careing!

Do you get your fills from Wendy Hall? I have had 3 fills from her. Shes great also. If it wasn't for her I probably wouldn't have been able to get my band. She helped me through all the pre surgery paperwork and all that fun stuff. Wendy's #1 in my book!

Again, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know about any support groups you are starting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Tina and Coyote,

I'm also a new bandster. I had mine done on May 8, 2006. I'm going for my first fill next week on July 1st. I've only lost 16lbs so far. Believe it or not, I had my done in Mexico and had a great experience. I'm also going back there for my fill. I'm originally from Atlanta but just moved to Sedona a year and a half ago. I'm glad I got banded but I sure do wish my weight loss was quicker. I started at 194, now I'm down to 178. I wanted to have it all gone in 2-3 weeks, 4 at the most, LOL. Good luck to both of you! Hi Dawn, Welcome to LBT!!!

Sedona? Wow, how are you doing with the fire? Is it close to you? Scarey isn't it? I was in the big fire in 02.(Rodeo/Chediski) was evacuated for 11 days not knowing what was going on with my house. Thank God everything was fine. But a lot of my neighbors lost their homes. I hope you are far enough away from it. I hear that it is a little contained tonight 15% is better than 0% right?

Again Welcome to the group and Good luck!

Hi all I live in Avondale and soon..very soon will be a bandster!!! I am so excited:clap2: I have explored this for about three years off and on...first co. I worked for (Health care) didn't cover it with the insurance...this co. has a two year wait ( I have been there one year) and the deductable is 5,ooo.oo :angry I decided I can't wait anymore and schedualed an appointment in Mexico for the 27th of July...I can't believe it!! just knowing it is soon is a relief...I am so ready...tired of buying shirts then washing them and never being able to wear them again cuz they shrink to show the bottom of my "love tissue" Belly!! I would love the number of Wendy Hall..to find out about fills here...if someone can send me that I would appreciate it very much...peace to all

My surgeon is doc Lopez cordolla...if ya have heard bad things please whisper behind my back as I am nervous enough already! :faint: my co-worker went to him and is doing great so she sent me in that direction...as you can see I like these cartoony's never used them before...thanks to all for sending me Dr Halls numbers that's a relief to know someone to touch base with here...so to all you crazee AZ's STay cool in the monsoon...friggin humid eh??

Thanks coyotegirl! There is so much info. here on LBT. If there is a support group in Flag. I would be interested in attending.

My family is going "up north" the week of the 10th. We are renting a cabin in Kachina Village and are looking forward to getting out of the heat!:clap2:

Thanks again for the wellcome.

Hi again mferra, I don't live in Flagstaff. I only had my surgery there. I live in Pinedale about 15 miles from Show Low.

I think they are trying to start a support group in Snowflake but I haven't heard anything about it in a while.

Have fun "up north" :) I lived in the Valley for 20+ years and just couldn't take the heat any longer. I moved here in 1993 and have loved it!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
