Succumb to temptation :(

Recommended Posts

I have eaten badly today and feel terrible... I ate a big bowl of corn chips and a whole bag of white cheddar cheese popcorn...I don't know what came over me. I hope I didn't ruin my band. I am 3 1/2 months banded. Has anyone else relapsed so early on? I will get back on track tomorrow...

You didn't relapse you just made poor food choices today. So what!! Move on tomorrows another day and you'll make better choices!! ;)

It takes a lot more than that to ruin the band or cause damage. Especially since the foods you ate are all slider foods so they just pass right through anyway.

Don't beat yourself up, just learn from the experience and move on.

Tomorrow is a new day so just start over fresh and keep going forward.

Best wishes.

Girl if poor choices ruined the band mine would have been ruined along time ago. It's a tool not a cure and we still struggle with addictions to food with bad habits. Shrug it off and get back on Track tomorrow.

Think about why you did it. Examine how you were feeling and what your motivation was. I find that if I can understand why those slips happen, I can also plan for what I will do the next time those same feelings/situations occur.

BTW, why did you have the types of foods available to you?

Why wait till tomorrow? You had a moment of unhealthy food choices. It's over. Make healthy choices from now on.

It's okay to have a moment, just get back on track immediately following.

Forgive yourself and continue on the journey.

Just move on. You can't live with regret. It's a mistake, learn and go on living.

Terry, my husband brought it home...I usually have better control, but for some reason(that I am still trying to grasp why)I gave in...

I know what you're talking about. I am finally learning not to give in. Today I bought my husband 2 bags of potato chips. I did not even try one. I had almonds, one of my have to have foods. I buy cheap no salt almonds and roast them in a pan with some olive oil and keep them in the refrigerator. I love these.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
