I asked my doctor, he stated that as soon as the wounds were no longer open (about 7 - 10 days) I could begin to use Mederma, Bio-Oil or Vitamin E.

As soon as I read your post I had a look at my incision points, all the little ones I can hardly see and the biggest one is a flat fading line. The only thing I've used is moisturiser on my skin as it can get a bit dry, other than that nothing and my scars are not very noticeable seven months out. To be honest not even sure if those creams, and ointments work, I did look into them but found some too expensive.

I have heard people swear by Vitamin e.

You cant even see my scars and I put nothing on them. Those over the counter products really don't work and a waste of money. You would be better off going to a dermatologist and getting something if they don't go away on their own. My husband gets Kelo-Kote for his scars its expensive about 47 dollars a tube but it works and you only need a little bit.

I tried the Bio-oil and it did nothing. I also used the Scar away silicone strips in the beginning and they seemed to help. I'm almost 7 months out and the small incisions are barely noticeable, but I think the larger one will take more time. It's not horrible, but it is raised slightly and darker pink color, but the middle of it is my skin tone, so it's making it's way there :).

I use pure Emu oil. I have used it for years and it works. My daughter had a bad scrape on her face and the surgeon was waiting for it to heal so that he could do some lazer surgery on it. I used the Emu oil on it until we went back. It healed so well that he did not have to do anything and now recommends it to all of his patients.
