March 2013 Surgery Dates?

Recommended Posts

I am scheduled for surgery on the 20th and am on day 2 of the pre-op diet. food is all I think about! At least I am allowed 4-6oz of lean meat if I need to feel the chewing sensation. Also 4-6 shakes per day.

I am excited for sure!

My update:

I was banded first thing this morning so I'm only around 6 hours out. They repaired my hernia too. I have been home for almost 5 hours. I'm only a little sore. Mostly at the port site. But the pillow helps that when coughing and moving.

And I am keeping fingers crossed that I'm one of the lucky ones because I have had minimal gas pain so far. I have my gas ex and heating pad for the little bit that I do feel.

Yay! I'm official now! :)

So i'm rescheduled for March 25th....starting the diet on monday. Thank god my diet is not too strict (as some of you). 3oz (x2) of low fat meats and unilimited veggies. No potatoes, corn or peas. Breakfast is 1egg+1egg-white and 1 piece of whole weat toast.

I should survive!

March 15th surgery date here. 1 week into the liquid diet and it's NOT THAT BAD!!! You can do it!!! I've found it's helpful to stay busy (obviously) and go to bed earlier so that you don't have a chance to get hungry late at night.

1 week to go and counting!!

March 14 here. Already had pre op testing and a little bump in the road with an abnormal EKG but I saw a cardiologist and I'm good to go for surgery. I start my 3 day pre op diet on Monday. I was nervous but now I'm just excited! Any advice on what bariatric Vitamins everyone is taking or what the best kind are?

Well day 4 of 14 on my pre-op diet, I am down 7lbs! Afternoons are harder for me but those numbers on the scale are motivation! I am really getting excited! Today I am full of energy and spunk. Hope everyone is healing well and my fellow pre-opers... We got this, just a bump in the road!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
