What is this "full" feeling when I haven't even eaten?

I'm one week out, had my post-op appt today. Was feeling pretty ok, until last night, when I started feeling like I had an air bubble, or fullness going on in my sternum/top of stomach area.

What is this feeling? It doesn't hurt, but it's really annoying me and sort of uncomfortable. I can get liquids down fine.

Gas in my belly, or just gas in general? I have been over the gas pain since day two, so I'd be surprised to see it resurface today.

Perhaps swelling? Why would I suddenly get swelling a week out?

Try chewing gas x tablets & see if that helps. It has been 10 months since I had mine & I still keep them at hand. I have noticed that if I wait too long to eat where I work 2 jobs, I get that feeling. It is like a air bubble & gas x takes care of it. I keep some in the car, my purse & in my desk drawer. It has become my best friend. Lol

I called my doc today for the same issue. They said could be swelling due to the hernia repair, the band may be a bit tight, or I am drinking prior to going to bed. Have to stop drinking two hours prior to bedtime!

Last night (day 7 post-op) i had horrible gas pain and bloating that started unexpectedly. I used gas-x strips and a heating pad on my shoulders and back, and it helped so much.

I'm right there with you. I haven't eaten since Sunday and am not the least bit hungry. The most I've been able to get down in a day is a 10 oz Muscle Milk, 20 oz of Water and a bit of broth.

I'm sure it will get better but this is a seriously odd feeling!

Call the doctor if you are concerned.
