Hi and Thank you all!

I've done a lot of research on the banding and I am scheduled to receive it on 21 April; I am sooo excited! I just recently stumbled onto your site and it has been VERY helpful and useful and I know it will continue to be so as I start my journey. I am on day 3 of my 2 week pre-op diet and so far so good.

Hello and thanks again to everyone; the info you provide is OUTSTANDING!!

Cheers!

You're a part of "OUR" site now! Welcome and congratulations on your surgery date. Tell us a little more about yourself - where are you and who's your surgeon. Is insurance covering you or are you self pay? How did you decide on lap-band surgery, etc.

Everyone here is so supportive and friendly, jump on in, the water's fine!

Hello Yoda! May the Band be with you! hehe

Happy you found us and just as Donna said, jump on in. This is a fantastic group of Losers! And your surgery date happens to be on Dawg's and my anniversary of the first time we met. Perfect day for starting a new life!

Thanks for the warm welcome. My surgery will be peformed at the TLBC in Toronto by Drs Joffe and Yau. I "think" it will be covered (still awaiting confirmation) but either way this is my answer and so I'm going forward with it...even if I have to sit outside and play my harmonica with a hat out!! LOL. My husband said he'd play with me and make it a duet! I'm incredibly fortunate to have such full support from my husband.

As I said, I'm really excited, the only "niggly" feeling I have is "what if I don't wake up from the surgery" (ie. something bad happens)....I know the chances are astronomically slim but it still worries me and my husband. Otherwise, I'm positive about it.

Thanks again.

;))

(I haven't figured out how to do the cute icon thingys yet...but one day!)

Welcome Yoda. I am 10 days post-op and wish I would have found this site prior to my surgery. The people here are very willing to share experiences and give helpful advice. Discuss all your concerns with your MD and also the anesthesiologist when you meet with them.
