  1. Hi...just a quickie to say that Mr Yoda and I reallllly enjoyed meeting y'all! We enjoyed putting faces to names. It was a lot of fun and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Is TLBC THE BEST or what???!!!!!! Have a wonderful and safe holiday season, everyone!!! (Loriely...specialist appt? Hope all is okay). )
  2. Mr Yoda & I will be there!! WOOOT WOOOT!
  3. :update: Just a quick note to pass on that us Yodas are doin' great and are alive and well!! Life is busy and we've been taking a hiatus of sorts from the site....too many other things goin' on. I periodically come and do a quick read ...glad to see u r all doin' so well! Keep it up! My band is a good friend and it is also quickly becoming a good friend to Mr Yoda (his band, not mine! LOL). He is doing very well indeed since his second fill (he is now at 5ccs....he has wisely chosen to reach his optimum level slowly - me thinks he learned from my journey!). He is down 30 lbs and we're both really noticing it (in more ways than one!! *snicker*) :rolleyes:whoo: All the best, I wish you!
  4. Actually, there are a few places that do not accept American money (Cuba is one example).
  5. <wrong Thread!!! lol ignore my edited post!
  6. ....we can never win, eh? This is also causing our interest rates to rise up!!! :phanvan
  7. well, NO tanning salon is "safe" band or no band. (except for spray on tan) People KNOW this yet they continue to do it. Personally, I never have and never will.
  8. If you want clarity, call the clinic Mon morning. But yeah, I've always eaten a "good" meal before my fill.....it is the after that is the tricky part...(fluids for the rest of the day). Don't forget that your fill won't be at 1:30. The seminar starts at 1:30....it is supposed to be two hours long (?...so they say!) and THEN they give you the fills. So you likely won't get your fill until after 3:00 (from my understanding). We'll see you there!! Looking forward to meeting you.
  9. TLBC has always told me to make sure I have a good meal before the fill. So, if your fill is in the afternoon...make sure you have a good lunch. If it is in the morning, a good breakfast. Mr Yoda and I are going to a rest. in TO for lunch tomorrow prior to going to TLBC.
  10. That is kewl that you enjoyed your visit to Canada...and yes, there is a lot more to offer!! psssst: but take it from someone who has lived from coast to coast to coast of Canada (& all points inbetween)....you have been to the most beautiful province and two of the most beautiful places within that province! :kiss
  11. This is why it is sooooo very important to ensure you have aftercare all researched and lined up before getting surgery. This is a big thing for out of Canada patients (ie. Mexico) but obviously for in Canada patients, as well. IMHO, though it is nice if the clinics help out in finding a fill person, I feel the onus is on the individual and it is their responsibility.
  12. Hmmmmm...I find that viewpoint interesting because TLBC staff (incl the doc) do call and talk to their patients. And they have their own support network on their website AND they have video and teleconferencing for support.
  13. LOL Doddie!!!! You know me better than that!!! I was referring specifically to lizrbit....not you my dear!
  14. Welcome back Miranda and welcome to bandland!!! Thanks for the update. So happy all went well for you!!!! You are on your way!!!:clap2:
  15. la la la la la....sure is nice up here on the high road.
  16. Hey Carlene.....we're full of beeeeches (that is bEAches not the other one!!) :kiss Just tell your DGD to bring her wet suit and she'll be fine!!! *snicker*
  17. :canada::canada::canada:you know, lizrbit...I must say that we Canucks here on the CANADIAN thread are a really close bunch that support one another.....regardless of individual threads....the whole CANADIAN forum is like that...it's called "looking at the big picture" and "caring". But, being an American (I don't know if you ARE American but I see you live in the US) perhaps you don't quite understand that. But, alas, I'm sure we all appreciate you coming to the CANADIAN thread and stirring the pot....mind you, I expect nothing less from our southern neighbours. Of course all are welcome to go visit any threads...in whatever forum...just strikes me as kinda funny it is always the "non-Canadians" who like to cause trouble on the Canadian threads. Enjoy and you just keep on havin' your fun since this seems so crucial to you! As for me...I will take the high road and will not comment to you again, regardless of the snide comeback I'm sure you will feel compelled to post here on the CANADIAN thread yet once again. :canada::canada::canada::canada::canada::canada::canada::canada::canada:
  18. Well done Green!!! :clap2: So, is that it? Are you at goal now?
  19. I knew she was looking for stuff for her "clear fluids" phase because she mentioned the same thing on another thread (looking for isopure for clear fluid). I didn't say you were trying to mislead her...my post was not targeting you negatively in any way (if you thought so, sorry you got so defensive!)...I just wanted to remind her that milk and yogurt are not considered "clear fluids" by HER doctor. Maybe YOUR doctor told you milk was okay to mix with Protein shakes "three days out" but I know that her doctor doesn't recommend milk as a "clear fluid" for that first stage. cheers
  20. nooooooooo, not meeeee!!! I'm referring to the movie we saw last night. We both reallllly liked it. It was HILARIOUS and very well done. I also liked the several references to Canada in the film. Several scenes had our flag in it, too. It reminded me of "Something About Mary" in it's humour.....I highly recommend it. Next on our list is "Mr Brooks" and the upcoming "Oceans 13". I can't WAIT for the one entitled "Chuck and Larry"....I nearly peed my pants laffin' during the previews!!!
  21. oh, I forgot to mention our other pets...we have several dustbunnies that seem to live here as well. They don't take a lot of care though! :omg::paranoid
  22. Susansilver: I just have the one pet: Mr Yoda!!!! :kiss DonnaD...I'm sorry your dog had to be put down. That is such a sad story....(I sooooo love dogs....the bigger the better!).
  23. Tattoo!!!!! I'm getting the one I have around my ankle "fixed" this afternoon (I had emergency surgery 4 yrs ago and they had to "cut" through my tattoo). While there, I am getting another one and Mr Yoda is getting his first!!! His mother is going to kill me (yet another thing I'm a bad influence on him for!!!). But of course, as you all know, Mr Y. has a mind of his own and I did NOT talk him into this (I would never talk anyone into something as permanent as a tattoo...it is an individual decision)...but all the same; I can't wait to see his mom's face!!!! *evil laughter*
  24. LOL yeah, okay...I see what you mean now...Yes, "Yoda's Yammerins" is us!! When you said "Journal" I thought you were referring to the actual journal feature on here where people go in and do like journal/diary type entries (which I haven't done but which Mr Yoda has done a few). (that being said, that journal feature has been "down" for a few weeks now). I didn't realize you were referring to our "Thread" versus "Journal". Gotcha now!!!
  25. Stop confusing her!!!! Don't worry about it Miranda. As I've said before and as the clinic said...it isn't "required". All that is required is CLEAR FLUIDS and Gatorade and Propel ARE clear fluids. And yes you need protein (I assume she already knows that!) but you can mix any Protein powder into any clear Fluid and then....as a bonus you can use that same protein powder later in your full fluid and mushie stages. (not to mention the fact that protein isn't as important during the first few days of clear fluids...it comes more into play during the full fluid stage). Also maybe lizrbit didn't intent to mislead you but don't forget that milk and yogurt are NOT clear fluids.
