Hi, nice to find you all! Just set my surgery date, and I am a petrified little weenie!

Hi, I'm Nicki. I got my surgery date Friday, and due to the fact my insurance changes next year, (my part increases a LOT) my surgeon scheduled me for the 26th. Of this year. Like....10 days from today. Whoa. I've thought about this a lot, I know this is the right decision for me, and I've been working towards this goal for months now. But man, 10 days from now? That's the day after Christmas. I haven't even finished my shopping yet! I'm already behind!

Sorry, don't want to be freakin out. I am, though. Little bit. I've never had any type of surgery before, so that's not helping. Even more embarrassingly, I'm a nurse. I should know better, right?

Anyhow, glad I found this forum. I'd rather freak out a bit here than around my friends and family.

And, just throwing this out there....liquid diets are disgusting.

Welcome Nicki, you have come to the right place for support, knowledge & inspiration. I can imagine how freaked out you must be. Most of us have had months to freak out.lol. What I'm saying is its normal whether you're a nurse or not. This is a new life you're starting.

Follow your Drs instructions and you will be fine.

Lots of nurses here so you're covered there too.lol

Best wishes for better health!

Welcome to the forum. There is a lot of support here. I found it very helpful on my journey so far. Lots of folks are nurses, and yes we were all nervous. I think that makes you normal!
