Granted I'm no doctor, but I would have to agree, that's too little. I know when my calories dip below 1000 my weight loss slows way down.

If I were in your shoes, I'd make an appointment with a nutritionist. Bring your phone so he/she can see what you eat on MFP, then together you can figure out how to increase your calories and where you can make changes in your eating habits.

Best wishes to you. You can do this!

Cals are too low. Can you give us sample menus?

My doctor says to wait at least 1 year to get pregnant.

Yea I need to look at drinks. I live in UK so no Walmart ???ž. I've been having slim fast Meal Replacement shakes which are 220 Cals with skimmed milk. I think I have to get my head round that I will be on a constant calorie counted diet rather than the ideal I had that I just would eat less and the weight would fall off.

Protein Drinks are not your answer. You should not be consuming liquid calories after your six weeks you need to learn how to eat with your band and not depend on Protein Shakes. Liquid calories do not keep you full. You can surely eat enough Protein to get enough in without resorting to shakes.< /p>

If those 220 calorie slim fast are part of the total calories then you you need to make some changes. . you should be getting your calories from solid foods.

I was told by my nutritionist to have a shake as the Protein is high in them (15g) and a good sauce of other nutrients. they are a meal replacement and I do find they fill me up till lunch time. I can't say I love them because I'm not a milk shake sort of person!

Also it's to try and get in 1000 calories as I was told I wasn't eating enough. I stopped losing weight and was told that this was the reason :0(

Well liquid calories are not the answer. Your nutritionist apparently needs more education in nutrition. I think most doctors do not approve of Protein Shakes months after surgery. Even at Breakfast you can surely eat greek yogurt. If you are having issues eating enough calories then eat more often.

It's honestly so frustrating the conflicting advise you get. I'm told to try and stick to 3 meals a day with some fruit In between. I had 1 nutritionist telling me that I wasn't eating enough calories and that my body was In Starvation mode and then another phone conversation with another one telling me that she not a believer in that!!!! I'm getting better advise on here from you guys. As least it's proven and tested by people who have actually had the procedure! Thanks

I do not believe in starvation mode either. You body has no choice to eventually lose the fat. Yes you can eat more frequently to get in the calories if you are lacking food intake. It isnt perfect science but if your not eating enough then eating more frequently will help. Choose Protein Snacks not fruit. Fat free cheeses, laughing cow cheese. Cottage cheese, tuna, chicken salad. I mean dont go over board but protein is the key to successful weight loss.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
