So I am trying to plan out my last 3 dinners, with foods I will never have again. I know not the healthy way t go to the hospital bed, but I've been pretty good and I will be 110 percent good after surgery.

There's a burger place by my house that is so good people travel from all over for. I will enjoy a last cheeseburger on a bun.

I'd like beer at my favorite pub but probably won't happen since it's a work week.

I'm trying to think of things I love that might be off limits. Is Sushi? Becuase that will be my Tuesday night dinner if rice and seaweed are hard to swallow with the band and get stuck. Please let me know your experiences.

And I also love Pasta with sauted broccoli robe- I'm thinking that might get stuck post band since it sometimes gives me a hard feeling in my throat going down now.

So please help me plan my next 3 dinners. I don't feel well right now so I am nt really hungry so these dinners might not even happen. I feel like my sore throat is causing me to be on a pre pre op diet. Hopefully my surgery won't be postponed for a bad cold, sore throat, swollen glands and cough. Going to dr. tomorrow in hopes of getting better. I don't want medicine that's going to enlarge my liver but I don't want a sneezing cold after surgery since I read it hurts to sneeze. Plus I get nervous with anesthesia if I am sick. FIngers crossed. I have 2 weeks and 3 days to get better.

I have been banded for 2.5 months and can probably eat anything you are planning for your last 3 meals. Being banded never means you can't eat stuff again, I have read people on here lost over 100lbs and there isn't anything they can't eat. If I wanted to, I would certainly have a cheeseburger. I may weigh it to 4oz, not have a bun, but that is my choice. I have eaten Pasta, again measured and tracked. (don't eat sushi so can't help you there). Please don't think of some foods as 'never again', more perhaps, in moderation, 3oz of it. Please don't think of being banded as being deprived.

My only thing I haven't eaten since being banded is a steak/pork chop (I have zero restriction so I am sure it would go down fine, but am scared) and salad (again, just afraid of getting stuck, but am going for it tomorrow!!!)

Good luck to you, hope you are feeling better.

I am also pre-surgery and hear that the band is so fickle that there is no rule as to what you can or can't have....just that you have to find out for yourself. I don't plan on saying goodbye with any particular food but rather saying good bye to the amount of food that I'm used too....like the three unneccesary plates at the Chinese Buffet.

Good Luck =)

I've been banded since February and sushi was the first thing I got stuck on about 2 months ago. I was being a bit careless and didn't chew too well, but it is the first thing that made me "slime" and I actually gagged and slime came up.

It was terrifying, but the next time I ate it I was much more careful. Everybody is different so it's almost a "trial and error" type thing. You have to decide if what you want to eat is worth the risk of trying it.

Best of luck!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
