Seeing Staples Sticking Out Of My Incisions

Can someone tell me if this is normal...I haven't seen any posts about staples....today while looking at my five incisions I noticed that two of them have a staple beginning to stick out in the corner of incision... Is this normal... I told my sister and she seems to think at my first fill the surgeon takes it out, however I've never heard anyone talking about staples .....any advice??

Not staples hon, stitches. I had that on 3 out of 5 incisions and they finally healed.

If it really bothers you, you can give Dr. a call.

Good luck!

Never had any staples, sure it is not a stitch? Call the doc if in doubt.

There metal color and sharp.....stitches are metal color and sharp feeling like a staple? I've never had a surgery or stitches before so I have no idea what stitches are! Lol

When I stitch pops threw it is like a little pin, it kept snagging my clothes.

Staples are on the outside. I had them with my hysterectomy. Looks like a zipper!

If you had staples, you'd know with 100% certainty. They literally look like the same staples you use on paper only slightly different in size. They would line your incision and they'd be external, not internal poking out.

If it's just a little wiry feeling thing sticking up through the skin, it's likely a stitch. They're not soft like thread, stitches are hard and stiff. More like thick fishing line.

I have that. Do they go away?

Yes, eventually they come off.
