Just Moved To Irving Tx Looking For Friends And Support

I just moved here to Irving, Texas about 4 months or so ago from CA. I left all of my friends and the little family I had to bring my family here and to try to give them a better life and better oppertunities. Since May I've gained back 35 lbs slowly, and I'm so discouraged :( I don't have any friends here and my husband doesn't really give me the emotional support I need. Is there anyone in the area? I really would like to get back on track and meet some new friends here in my new home.

I will start a thread and see who responds and we can throw out ideas to get together :)

I would love to meet up with you guys- it would be great to talk about diet and exercise etc.

Let me know what you all think

Hello my name is Toni' date=' I live in Desoto....[/quote']

Hey your just up the road from me. How's your band going? Mines doing pretty good. No complaints.

Would anyone like to formalize this and maybe meet for coffee? I live in Arlington and work in downtown Dallas. From the forums there looks like there was a DFW group but no one has answered my request of whether or not it was still active. Any thoughts or comments??

If we could get alot of people together it would be pretty neat. If you know a way I'm in.

I started a thread called dfw bandsters a few days ago. Didn't get many responses. Would love to get a group going!!!

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry I have been extremely busy with work and the holidays. I guess Irving is considered North Dallas area :) I work in downtown Dallas for the moment though. I would be intrested getting together with people for coffee or something on a weekend. I finally have found a dr here in the area and will be getting a fill, I haven't had one in a year and a half. I really need to get back on track. I kind of lost myself over this move and I'm trying desperatly to find myself.

Question for you ladies..

How do you guys cope with the heat and exercising? In CA I was an avid walker and would walk about 8 miles a day. I am training for the 60 mile breast cancer walk in November (I'm doing it in San Diego) and wonder how I am going to cope with the icky weather over the summer. Any suggestions?

Sorry just seeing the replies about the dfw bandsters thread. I will bump it up and you can let me know if you're interested.

It's under the general surgery forum.

Well I'm interested in meeting with all you ladies. I'm in Dallas one step away from farmers branch. 635/webb chapel. If anyone of you ladies would like to meet around this neighborhood i'm open. =)

For anyone that's interested:

The meeting is a go!

We will be meeting on Thursday, January 31 (last Thursday of the month) at 6:30pm. At Mochalux coffee & Tea Co. 1101 E. Bardin Rd, suite 101, Arlington, TX 76018. It is off Interstate 20 and S. Collins in a strip behind chicken Express.

They charge a fee of $25/hour to let us meet and to reserve seats, but that fee is waived if we purchase $30 worth of drinks/products. Hopefully you won't mind chipping in towards that amount in case we don't purchase enough.

I'm thinking this first meeting will be more of a meet and greet and we can discuss what kinds of things we are hoping to accomplish in our meetings. Also, it shouldn't last longer than an hour.

Hope to see you there!!!
