1/2 Cc Not Gonna Make A Difference?

Recommended Posts

I'm at approx 4.5cc in 10 cc band, I went to 5 like in the early spring but was too tight. I've been noticing I'm able to eat slightly more and need to snack in between meals. I'm wondering if it's time for a fill but 1/2cc?? Is that even worth it? Should I try a whole cc?

When I went from 6 to 6.5 it made all the difference in the world. I was suddenly in the Green Zone. Just 1/2 of a cc can make tons of difference!

Any amount can make a difference. You should not get caught up in the amount of the feel but the response to the fill. I have no idea how much is in my band but I know it works.

Thanks everyone! I was in a really good spot until just recently, I thought once you got into green you were good and didnt need anymore fills.

I agree, a .5 cc does make a world of difference. I can't tolerate anything above 5.cc. The surgeon does his own fills, he took me to 5.5, i had to have the .5 cc removed because I could not eat anything. So, beware, it makes a big difference in some people. Karen

I got .1cc a fee weeks ago after being at my sweet spot for over a year and it was just too much. Ended up getting unfilled a little today as a result. A good example that any amount can make a difference.

DOn't focus on the amount in your band, focus on how you respond to the fill. Everyone is different and some people are very sensative. I have only had 3 fills and have lost steadily.

Got a question for ya...I have a 1/2cc in my 10cc band. I clearly need and want more, should I ask for 1 or 2 cc's or 1/2 or more? I'm eating way less than I used to, but feel I could or rather should eat less(er) and be satisfied. When they gave me the 1/2 cc, I was swolen for a few days, did the after fill diet and loved it! I could notice when to stop and it was easy. But that wore off quickly and I find myself wanting more food.

Where would YOU want to be with a 10cc band?

As you get fills, you would be amazed how even 1/4 cc can make a difference especially as you get tighter on fills.or closer I should say. I have been pretty conservative in my last 3 fills (1/4) all is well and some have bordered too tight. Just take journey slower.

I just went in and got a .10 cc and it has made a huge difference, if you have stopped losing weight or hungry between meals go in and get one. It really does help!

well my word of advice. I just had rapid weight loss 50lbs in four months. Guess what? Im having my gallbladder removed because of it. Lose the weight slowly. Your gallbladder can not keep up with all the cholesterol the liver is dumping in it there fore making stones. Lose it slow even though you want more. Its not worth the risk.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
