Self-Pay Question...about Hernia Repair And Insurance

I am self pay and was wondering if anyone had lap-band surgery and due to the finding and repairing of a hernia was able to get a portion of the procedure submitted to, and paid by, insurance after the fact? I am pretty sure with my acid reflux that I will have an hernia.

    I am self pay as well but hernia repair was included in the $16,000.
