Is It Weird That I Can Take Pills?

I took some medicine and I didn't have liquid so I swallowed pills. Didn't have any problem! Also , am I supposed to wait 30 min after I have my protein shake to drink water or is that only for when I get on solids? Thanks!

A lot of us can and do take pills, myself included. It's not weird at all.

I don't wait 30 minutes to drink after a protein shake because a protein shake is liquid. However, to be honest I never asked my doctor or nutritionist about it either. I just assumed.

Thank You mis73! I expected to have all this gas Pain and the pills would get stuck. Honestly I have no gas. Well maybe a tiny bit last night. The pills went down fine. Drinking sf grape crystal light. Had 2 protein shakes and broth today. This is going way better then I expected. I hope it says this way. Knowing my luck tomorrow will be different, LOL I can't believe I am finally banded! How long have you had yours?

I've had mine for almost 10 months. It'll be 10 months on Nov 6th to be exact.

I've taken pills, including some rather large ones, from the very beginning with no problems. I'm just really careful after a fill to make sure they still go down ok.

I crushed my pills for 3 months and then started taking them. If they are really big I break them ½ and take them. As time goes by you might try drinking some coffee in the morning or whenever you take your pills it seems to open or relax the band some.

Do not break apart time-released pills though.

Thank You ladies!! I don't have any time release ones. I got my one med in liquid and it tastes horrible. I will be glad to switch back to pill form!

That stuff is horrid! LOL

I break my bp pill into 4 pieces because it is very large.

I take all my pills with a cup of tea .

I am off my stomach pills. Havent had to take any since having my surgery (and hiatal hernial repair). I dont get heartburn anymore :)

I had asked my nutritionist about the whole protein drink and then fluids and she said a "liquid is a liquid", so you don't have to wait the 30 minutes.

The best thing about my lap band is I don't have to take any pills anymore. I have trouble with my vitamin so I do a liquid. the calcium is huge so I do a gummy. You gals that are still taking pills for bp be careful it doesn't go to low after you lose weight, I was on vacation this summer and this great big muscle guy went down like a sack of potatoes because his pressure had dropped so low after weight loss, so please monitor it ..
