Smiley' date=' I think this is probably normal. I had my surgery yesterday and feel like I have a ton of mucus in my throat. It hurts too bad to cough so there's really no place I can make it go. Let me know if yours clears up in the next couple of days. I'd like something to look forward to, lol.[/quote']

Hello Amy, glad u r back and hope u feel better.....

Thanks, Desoto. I'm doing better, but this really hurts. I have a pretty good pain tolerance and this is insane. I can barely get up out of a bed, the couch, the toilet. But it's getting easier with each passing day. And I still believe this is going to be WORTH it, lol.

The gas pains can be bad. Get some Gas-X strips, they will help.

This is one area where being a man makes this easier. Men usually don't care about gas. Women will hold it for days so as not to embarass themselves. Let it go...you will feel better. LOL

I'm out of surgery and at home in bed. I'm in so much pain. It hurts to do anything. I feel like in post op they were pushing me our the door. I literally just open my eyes and they were getting me dressed. She gave me 50mg of Demerol and told me to get up. I couldn't walk straight nor hold myself up for X-ray. I'm being bitchy now I'm going back to sleep y'all

Very good, thank you. My smarter half had be up and around most of the day today. Walked around costco and did some shopping. It wasn't difficult walking past the people hawking samples. I find it hard to believe that the last time I put a piece of solid food in my mouth was 5 days ago and I'm not hungry nor do I have any cravings. Honestly, it is a strange feeling.

As for pain from the incisions. Don't be afraid, they only last a couple of days. You will do fine.

I've often had this trouble after surgery. Try to pee often. Don't let the discomfort get so severe that you can't take it anymore. Call the surgeon and let him know. He will know what to do. Hope all works out.

Ok. I WAY over indulged today and it wasn't even the thought of surgery next week. Just no control. Prolly had enough calories for three days. Now I'm not worried about eating right after surgery. If I don't feel good food has no appeal. But now I'm getting anxious about when I feel better and eating too much. Anyone feeling anxious about that?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
