Hi there I am being banded on 18 Dec. I can't wait it seems it is all I can think of! I don't care that I can't eat Christmas dinner or anything. I see this as my present to myself I have not told anyone close. Can't bear the judgment. I do that enough to myself. Looking forward to keeping up with all your results.

Btw. I am in Australia so different time zone to all of you.

Well I have started my pre-op diet. My surgeon restricts us to 30 gm carbs. So we don't have to do just liquids. So far am very hungary. But my problem with past diets wasn't that I couldn't follow them, I just couldn't follow them long enough. Even after I lost 70 lbs I couldn't stop myself from gaining it back to 10. :(

I'm very worried. I'm an OR nurse and have complete faith that things will be fine. I think ignorance is bliss in this instance! I'm afraid I won't lose weight, as I've tried so many things so many times and failed. I think I've convinced myself that being heavy was just the way I was going to be forever and now there's this hope....just scared. My surgery is next Thursday. I'm emotional...anyone else?

Mama2girls- I'm a nurse too so I know where you are coming from. My biggest fear is of complications down the road like erosion or a slip. I'm confident that the surgery will be fine. I'm choosing to be confident that this will work for me. I know if I follow the rules it will. If I don't, it won't. I'm going to work my band so that I'm successful. I really believe that people who fail with the band fail because they don't follow the rules.

I'm a little worried I won't lose the weight and I'm scared and excited all at the same time my surgery is scheduled for next Thursday and the closer I get to it the more nervous I get. I'm sure ill be fine because I feel I'm in very good hands with the Dr I choose!

I'm a nurse too. I know complications happen, but I've been a nurse almost 30 years and the majority of the time surgeries go as planned.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
