Have you already done the full liquids, yogurt, Soup, pudding etc. I can't keep these phases straight, as my office didn't call it mushies.

After the full liquids, I went to blenderized and pureed.........nothing to shake a stick at. Mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, chicken in a blender (consistancy of peanut butter) but I added a bit of cheese and gravy to moisten it and give it some flavor.

After pureed foods I will go to soft foods. Is this what you would call mushies?

For example at this stage I can eat steamed fish, steamed chicken, boiled broccoli or cauliflower , bean salads, cottage cheese, mashed bananas, soft boiled eggs, canned fruit, applesauce, sugar free pudding.

All the pureed and soft foods sound so good because I am on my pre op diet and cant have any of it..lol

I'll be at day 7 tomorrow but the menu you just mentioned is on MY menu for week 3 :-(

Starting tomorrow I can have puréed liquids, low sodium Soups - puréed, v8, Danon yogurt smoothies.

I'm so hungry! Lol I'm glad to be just hungry instead of hungry and writhing in gas pain.

I'm so confused I was on clear liquid the day and the day after the surgery then I start my Protein Shakes Jello yogurt etc and now the "muchy" stage until I see the doc on the 19th but I see everybody just in full liquids and feel that I'm doing it wrong I think I should call the doctor office just to double check

I'm also on the pureed food stage. I tried pureed/blended food its nasty and looks like throw up. This is what I eat.

Breakfast- 6 oz plain greek yogurt

Lunch- 2 scrambled eggs with 1 slice low fat cheese

Dinner- 2 oz of grilled tilapia with 1/2 cup of plain mashed potatoes.

If I'm hungry hours after dinner I will have 1/2 cup of 1% whipped cottage cheese

I did Clear Liquids for 2 days, full liquids for 2 weeks and pureed/blenderized for 1 week and am now on soft foods, introducing ground meats, going from pureed meats to finely diced etc for the next 10 days then to maitenance. It sure is nice to chew.

Mine is clear liquid first week

All liquid second week

Mushies for two weeks

Then soft foods for two weeks

I am only in clear liquid phase. I feel like I will never get to soft foods. Why are the post op diets so different?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
