What's your story?

What's your goal? (and just dont say to lose weight)

How can I support you?

How can we support each other?

i'll start and keep it brief

starting getting big around 19 and spent up til may this year going up and down

great success (met richard simmons, susan powter, leader of TOPS for 4 yrs) and

always ended up gaining it back by overeating and not exercising.

def lost hope and belief in myself in 09 til 2012 where i got so big, it was hard for

me to walk very far. got my surgery and here i am....

my goal, to continue to be mobile and get my legs stronger and get to a weight/size i am comfortable with

how to support me, talk to me, say hey and when we meet, i am your friend no matter what

My story starts with "you're just big boned" and continued up & down until I hated myself so much that I knew I had to do something. So I got my lifesaver in February!

My goal is to be happy & healthy. Already I'm off hbp meds, in smaller clothes and I walk so much taller!

You already support me every time I log on to LBT you are there with your love!

Keep coming back to LBT, give love & support to each other. And sometimes the kick in the butt that we all need every once in a while.

I love my band!

Love this topic!

To keep my story brief, I was mostly fit until I turned 16 and started taking Depo Provera. Gained 40 lbs very quickly, then steadily gained until I was 28 weighing 243 lbs.

My goal is to be comfortable in my skin. My weight goal is 160, and I would love to be in a size 10, but realistically I just want to be able to look at myself and not be disgusted.

As for the support - I think we do a great job! You're one of my best LBT buddies!!

I swear we're twin's! I too a leader of Tops b/c I was so good at losing weight.

My knees needing replaced. Motorcycle babes. Caring about others. The only difference is I have a hard time with people who are untruthful with me. I will be your friend no matter what, but doesn't mean I'll trust you completely.

Except you my beautiful PPPB!!!!

Cool topic :)

My story is pretty simple. I woke up one day in the spring of 2011 realizing my life was a miserable trainwreck. I was married to man I truly hated with a passion, I was smoking almost 2 packs of cigarettes a day, I weighed about 420 pounds, and I was fighting Multiple Sclerosis. I was only 38 years old and I knew if I didn't make some drastic changes I wasn't going to live to be 50.

So, first I quit smoking. A couple weeks later, I filed for divorce. I spent the summer and fall dealing with both of those messes but did so successfully. In November 2011 my divorce was final (YAY!!) and in December 2011 I went to the Lap Band seminar. I was banded January 2012.

Now, I am happier than I ever have been in my adult life. I am thrilled to still be a nonsmoker and I've lost 143 pounds so far. I still have a ways to go but I know I'll get there. I still have Multiple Sclerosis (stupid incurable disease!) but the symptoms are a lot more manageable since getting the rest of my health in order.

My goal is to continue to lose weight and make my body healthier as I do. My goal is also to never lose sight of the beauty of the journey because of tunnel vision on the goal. I want to enjoy this and savor every little victory along the way. I think my ultimate goal would be to be a healthy weight in ten years, still eating healthy, and still able to walk and function at least as well as I can now (MS can steal all that from me but I refuse to let it).

We already support each other, both on the boards and in PM's :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
