After 5 Years Of Debate, Finally Going To Go Through With It

Hi. My name is Jen and I have been looking at getting lap band for well over 5 years. I was even a few months away from getting it once but backed out. I felt like I should be able to do this on my own. Well here I am 5 years later and though I have lost 55 pounds I am not where I want to be. I want to be able to go on rides at Universal and not be embarrassed that the bar will not fit. This is my first step. I go in on Weds to talk to my surgeon and can't wait to get started on my new journey.

Congratulations and on your decision and welcome!

Welcome to LBT & congratulations on making a decision to improve your health!

My cardiologist suggested it years ago and I resisted, but so glad I'm doing it know.

Please stick around here. I think its really important to have great support. Plus, you'll learn a lot.

Best wishes!

You won't regret this I am 6 months post surgery and 82lb down feeling great. Good luck and follow the rules and you will see success.

Thank you all. I know I will need lots of support and I look forward to being on here more and discussing my fears and journey

You're not the only one who took so long, Jenn! Notice my join date on here, and I was just banded Jan 18 of this year! Lovin' it!

Wishing you lots of luck! :)

Thank you. I had my first meeting today and with any luck I should be having my surgery in a few months. I am very excited.
