Hey, I'm joining this group!! I wanted to earlier, but wanted to wait on a solid date. I will be banded May 26th at noon!! My bday is the 31st, so I was hoping to be banded b4 that date. Looks like a lot of you are in the beginning of May.....guess I'll be one of the bandsters to bring up the rear!!

This is a great group and I'm proud to be part of it!!!

Is there anyone else with a bday in May?

My surgery date is May 12th. I have my pre-op assesment on May 4th ( my Birthday )

Another appointment tomorrow. I should know how long I will be on the liquid diet. I am gettig nervous thinking about the procedure, but the info I am getting from this board is really helping.

Good luck to all the May-ers.I hope we can keep in touch with our progress.

I'm in the May group too:clap2:

I'm scheduled for May 17th in Mississauga, Ontario with Dr. Cobourn at 8:00am. My liquid diet will start two weeks prior and I'm already for it. My husband is excited for me too. He's the type of guy that eats and eats and doesn't gain a pound...how does he do it:confused: But he is encouraging me all the way:)

Looking foward to hearing about everyone and their experiences.

(PS - my ticker worked!!!):nervous

:wow2: It's great to see so many getting their band in May. This is a great group. We have a lot to share and learn from each other. And how about those May bdays to boot? I can't think of a better bday present. :biggrin1:

I wish everyone the best and look forward to getting to know all of you better. :clap2:

Just wanted to see if my ticker works.

I will be home late tomorrow so I will update everyone (about the pre-op diet, etc) on Wednesday.

Stay positive:) ;)

Its a numbing feeling to see the numbers, especially the amount I want to lose. No where to go but down!!!!

Steady and slow is the way to go

What is the amount of weight that most "Mayers" want to lose. I want to lose about 200 pounds and that will be about 12 inches off my waist!!! I am focused!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
