What Calorie/protein Goal Is Everyone Aiming For?

I had surgery 8/20 and am finally getting the hang of this! But Im finding it hard even now to get in enough Protein without going over my calorie intake. I don't go for my first fill until 4 weeks post op...And although I eat WAY less than before, Im able to eat about 1cup - 1.5 cups of food at a time. I've recently discovered myfitnesspal and it's been amazing! Ive decided to aim for 1000 calories a day (While waiting for my fill) and nutritionist suggests about 70g protein. Its a crazy balancing act. I ate like 1600 calories today trying to get in all my protein. (I ate some junky food today too and Im totally regretting it, ugh!) What are some low cal, band-friendly options that are high in protein without having to resort back to those chalky Protein shakes? Good, easy to prepare recipes/ideas? Must-read reading material on all this? Thanks everyone!! :)

Some days will be different in calories and or Protein, based on the foods we eat. But I try to stay at least 70 protein each day, this way I eliminate some "junk" that might slip in. All doctors/dietians are different in their totals.

Be positive!

Chicken and protein shakes work for me. Add my to myfitnesspal (username is sophiespo) and you can see what I eat for protein.

I haven't gotten there yet, but it looks like adding the unflavored Unjury protein powder to just about anything will up the amount!

70g/900-1200 calories

70g and 1000 calories is what the nutirition team here recommends.

Try low-fat cottage cheese... tuna without all the dressings...

Yesterday I was behind Protein and Water so I ate some beef Jerky. Not bad on anything but sodium which made me drink water better. I wouldn't do that everyday, but it woked.

Nutrition here says to add a scooop of you shake powder to yougurt, cottage cheese, pretty much anything to get to the goal of 70.

I use the Unjury protein powder every day. Chocolate splendor is delicious. I would rather drink a protein shake and not have to worry about how to fit it all in during the day. The shakes combined with eating, I usually get between 55 and 65 grams of protein without even trying. Best of luck!
