How Long Does Hair Loss Last!?

Am just over two months post op and the hair loss is getting worse. I have been taking biotin and protein shakes. I have read on here that it grows back, but when!? I already have short hair and am worried sick!

I'm also very anxious to hear what others have to say about this.

Doctor said it's from anesthesia. I am 6 months post banding and just started Biotin past week. We'll see.

That's weird though. I has had anesthesia before wight no hair loss. I just hope it stops soon!

For me it was about 4 months. Make sure to get higher strength Biotin, 5000 mg.

I'm taking 7500mg biotin and keeping up with protein. I have thinning already on top of my head it's bad. Only 3 1/2 months I want it to stop. I cried today so sad. If you have thinning spots you can use toppix (powder for scalp) which helps. I have ordered a custom lace wig for top of my head since I feel that bad. Weight is coming off normal which is great but I wish I had more hair to cover the loss...

I've noticed more in the shower and on my shirt (mid length hair that I expect to break off here and there, but there's been more lately). Why does this happen?

so far ive not had any problems but would like to know why it happens as well.

I've experienced hair loss as well, my hair has grown out due to the style I have that I don't comb it everyday, I shampooed last night and combed out, boy has it thinned. a lot thinner than ever before. when will this stop any one know?

its happening to me too

been told to keep up wth protein and taking my vitamins and biotin

will def ask my dr next tuesday at my 3 month follow up

i had other surgeries before and never noticed any hair loss either

i do also hope it stops or ceases

I am eight months out from being banded and I still am dealing with thinning hair and hair loss, after trying biotin with no results I went to talk to my doc and even with taking my vitamin d it showed in my lab levels that it still was not enough so they prescribed me a higher dose of vitamin d im hoping it works. I just started it so its to early to tell

Thanks everyone. I go to my dr this week. I will ask him as well.

mine started about 3 months post surgery and after 2 months now its getting better , Biotin wont stop the hairloss it just helps the growing of the new hair , i noticed that after starting to drink at least one protein shake a day, it got better but it might be my imagination who knows ....i had very thin hair to begin with. so now if i wanna wear it in a ponytail it looks like a pigs tail thats how thin it is. but its just hair it will grow back until then i just have to be creative ;) ....long as this weight keeps coming off its all good :)

I was banded in March and I have been noticing my hair loss for about the last 2 months. I am trying to get enough protein but it is really difficult some days. I am hoping it stops soon. I have always had really thick hair and now it's so thin. I really need to get my hair colored but am too scared that even more will come out if I do. I will try the Biotin that everyone seems to be talking about. Hope it helps...
