  1. I was banded in March and I have been noticing my hair loss for about the last 2 months. I am trying to get enough protein but it is really difficult some days. I am hoping it stops soon. I have always had really thick hair and now it's so thin. I really need to get my hair colored but am too scared that even more will come out if I do. I will try the Biotin that everyone seems to be talking about. Hope it helps...

    Frustraaaaated!! Arrrrgggh!!! >:(

I can so relate to this. I was banded on 03/14/12 and I have only lost about 26lbs. I knew it would be slow, but I didn't realize it would be THIS slow. I have had 3 fills so far and am scheduled for another one on the 17th. I did finally start to feel some restriction with my 3rd fill but still can eat more than a half cup and not be "full". I have noticed that I can't eat anything other than yogurt or protein shake in the mornings or it will come right back up. After a couple of hours though, I can pretty much eat anything. I am hoping after this next fill I will be closer to my green zone so that I can start losing more. I have started some exercise and know I need to do more but I have RA and the pain prevents me from doing too much. Hoping that once I can lose more weight the joint pain won't be as bad. Good luck to all!
  3. When you go in for a fill you only get a little bit at a time. I just had my 3rd fill on Monday and I am now at 7.8cc with a 14cc band. I asked for more but they will only give a little at a time.

    New To This :)

I just had my lap band done last Wednesday. I was a little anxious, but I think that is to be expected. They will start an IV and then when it's time to go back they give you a lovely little "cocktail" through the IV. After that you go to sleep. When it's over you will wake up in the recovery room and you will feel groggy and be in some pain. You might also feel sick to your stomach. The nurse will give you something for the pain and nausea. You might throw up, or in my case dry heave. It's all normal reactions. There was a girl in the next curtain area in recovery and I swear she must have had a caffine drip going in her IV because she was all bubbly and happy and very talkative. I, on the otherhand, could barely talk and was pretty much out of it. Everyone responds differently. You will be fine. Good luck on your journey!

    Banded 3/13/12

I'm just curious if anyone is having pain in their chest/rib area when they take a deep breath??? Mine has just started up the last couple of days. I'm almost 6 days post op. It's not gas pain...at least I don't think it is. It feels different. Thanks!!

    Banded 3/13/12

Lol, I feel like I'm being tortured reading some of these posts. I've been banded since Wednesday and I would kill for some "real" food right about now. I'm being good though and sticking to liquids, mostly because I'm scared to death to mess something up or throw up. I went back to work today and I did ok. Pain got a little worse. It almost felt as though my insides were so swollen they were going to burst out of me. I'm hoping tomorrow will be better because I have to grocery shop and throw a wedding shower for 160 people...that will be the real torture. On the bright side I am down 5lbs! Woohoo!!!

    Banded 3/13/12

Hi there! I just got my band on 03/14/12. I have been having some gas issues as well as incision pain. I haven't looked yet because the nurse said not to remove the bandages for three days. I have been drinking mostly water and a few ounces of protein shake and chicken broth. I have only felt hungry once since the surgery and that was this afternoon. A couple of ounces of chicken broth solved that and then I felt stuffed. I guess I'm still pretty swollen. I'm going to attempt to go back to work tomorrow. I will be checking in to try and keep track of what y'all are going through since you have a few days on me. Congratulations!!
