Is Salad A Red Flag Food?

Recommended Posts

Everyone is different..some people have no problems with anything...lucky them...and then there is me..everything changes ..sometimes I can and sometimes I can't..so I have come to rely on the feel of things...if after the first two small bites I feel like it will become a stuck situation I stop...don't care what the cost of the dish or if I slaved for a while preparing..pbing or whatever is awful and I will try to avoid doing that...sometimes its hard to be a lapbander...

Thanks for sharing. Well my doctor gave me a list of "red flag " foods to stay away from. I just assumed this was universal list for lap band patients. I know hot dogs is on the list for an example just couldn't remember about salad. But it sounds like everyone does fine with it. Good eats!

hm, i eat a ff turkey hot dog every now and then. Protein is good and i can deal with it being low calorie. i am not a sodium person, so this little sodium does not bother me at all.

all the best my dear :)

I just noticed that your only a week before me, but I can't start solids until week 7!

I know isn't it crazy how surgeons can be so different with their plans compared to others. LOL

I am a little nervous, at the same time my band is completely empty as I just went to my surgeons office yesterday because I had trapped air in my band after surgery and she removed the air from the band. I don't go back for almost another 4-6 weeks.

Next week is a family bbq I am making homemade potato salad, but I will put a little on the side and make mine 'lower' in fat. I am nervous about eatting a hot dog, but I will just remember to take very tiny small bites and chew till that baby is mush ..LOL Oh, and watermelon for dessert!

ya have to let me know how you did on your solids when you are able to ... :)

Agree... I prefer the oil one, not the creamy! It is so good! Reminds me of Olive Garden salad dressing! Love it!

I might have to try some of these salad dressings suggested. I have a hard time committing to them because it seems the majority I do not like and they go to waste.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
