Emotional Breakdown

Hey everyone -

Thanks for all your encouragement and words of advice and experience. It took me awhile to get back to everyone because I decided I needed a mini vacation and went to visit my mom, who lives in rural Oregon so not much for internet down there. :)

Anyway, I'm doing much better since I posted this, and actually managed to lose 5 pounds this week! I'm allowing myself around 1500 calories a day with the working out until I can talk to my nutritionist.

Anyway, thanks again for all the love and support it means a lot to me and I'm so glad to have you all on this journey with me.

So glad to read the update! Sorry your social gathering kicked off such a sad reaction, but I hope you can work on not worrying about anyone but YOU for the time being! Glad you got away, sounds like it did you good! I'm getting my band next month, and I am not looking forward to the melt-downs, but at least I know they are coming!

I went into a severe depression a month after surgery, thinking what the heck did I do to me. I also ran into the guy that talked me into having this surgery instead of pushing for the gastric operation. He kept apologizing for encouraging me to have this surgery and I told him it was not his fault. I hated everything and everybody UNTIL the weight started to melt off of me and the sizes dropped down. I did get over it and have a new life now and saw the same neighbor that recommended the surgery and he could not believe his eyes when he saw all the weight I got off and how I looked. Now he is trying to talk his wife into getting the surgery and she is not happy with how I look, she won't even say "hi" to me anymore. Must be she liked me fat and not appealing to her husband and now that has changed.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
