Morning Band Or Gas?

I'm 1 week & 3 days post op. Still having pain from the gas. Yesterday it was so bad it hurt to breathe. This morning is a little better but I'm having pain right in the middle of my chest. Not sure if its gas pain or morning band. Maybe both? What does morning band feel like? Any suggestions to help? Thanks!

It is likely still the gas trying to work its way through your body. It's very important to move around and take pain meds, as needed. Try to walk every couple hours to help it work its way out. Also, forget about your manners for now and if you need to burp, etc. let it go. It should pass in the next day or two.

Good luck.

Yes I agree move move move. I walked almost all day around my house for the first 2 days to get the gas out. With the help of gas X strips, I was pain free day 4 post OP. Good luck hope you start feeling better.

Morning band has never had a "feeling" for me. I only notice it when I go to eat and nothing goes down. I stopped that about week three (9 months ago). I ONLY do Protein shakes for Breakfast now, and then drink hot green tea and it loosens me up by lunch time.

What you have is definitely still gas. I tried everything and still had it for almost a month after surgery. Walking does help. The morning would be the worst, after no movement all night.

I ended up in the er. The pain was so bad that gas x & walking for an hour didn't help. I was having trouble breathing. Turns out there was a huge air pocket near the band. They did a bunch of tests, gave me some pain meds & after 4 hours everything looked good & I was feeling much better so I went home. I still have a little gas pain but can breathe normally. That was the worst feeling ever. So thankful to be feeling better & be home :)
