Things are getting better each day. I was having a bit of a problem with diarreha :guess and the doctor said it was probably too much protein shake. He gave me permission to stop drinking the nasty stuff for a few days.:) And guess what, it's getting better.

I have lost more weight in the last week then I have ever lost in a weeks period. I will not tell ya'll how much because ya'll still haven't had your procedure and I don't want you to get jealous. LOL Hint: weight loss is the square root of 64 times 2.

:clap2:

You are a cruel man Keller john. You know I have no math skills. LOL Either way I'm jealous, especially with my surgery date pushed back to April 24th. I am so glad that you are seeing some results already. That's what we pre-banders need to hear.

UPDATE PLEASE......

Got a call today going to up my surgery to April 11th yeah....13 days until IM BANDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be having my surgery on April 4th. This is my first time here. I am excited, scared, worried!!! I have done all my pre-op testing, have seen the surgeon (next time we see each other will be in the OR), am now on the liquid diet (OPTIFAST -- TASTES GREAT AS A SHAKE). Can't wait to feel better and have more energy. Carrying around all this weight for so long has been awful. Ahhh... better days are around the corner.

With the liquid diet they make you live on the week before... losing 10 lbs will be easy. I have been on it 6 days and lost 7 lbs

Welcome Sugar1 and congratulations on your surgery date. you make number 25 for people having their surgery in April since Imt33167 has been rescheduled to May.

Roberta

I am 41, an RN, and I am having surgery on 4/5. Yesterday was pre-op. Getting kinda nervous. My doc didn't put me on a pre op diet, but I am trying not to go crazy. I just came back home to New Orleans....the BEST food on earth!

I've got pre-op in the morning!!!!!!!!

(please notice that I'm using my sing-song happy voice :lalala: )

Now to remember nothing after midnight.

Audra

Oh--must have missed this thread.

Count me in--I'm to be banded April 18, 2006!!! Can't wait.

My doc. has me on a 30 day liquid diet. I have not done so well, but I have 20 days to go. I will try harder on these last 20.

Good luck to all of you April Bandsters!!!! Hopefully next spring there will be a whole lot less of us.

Dana,

I think of you often and your 30 day liquid diet. But just think of the reward in the end for staying with it. :whoo:

:first: :first: :first:

Keep it up. You'll make it!

Audra

Oh, and why is it that once you know your not allowed to eat anything after a certain time that you suddenly became a raving hungry lunatic that's looking for something to eat????????

:hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry:

At least that's the way it always works with me.

Audra

Audra, girl, I know what you mean. I have just been ravenous--I think it is psychological. Our brains know that something major is about to occur--whoo--Lord, just let me get through the next three weeks.

You don't have much longer, do you, Audra? I bet you are so excited.

How is everyone doing with the liquid diet?

I am on my 4th day of liquid diet, have lost 2 pounds. I AM STARVING. I am sticking to it. BUT I AM STARVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only 9 days to go!!!!!!!!!:clap2:

I haven't had time to read the entire thread, but I just got my date for April 26th so I wanted to join the group... I'll post more later when I have read through all the posts.

I got the time for my surgery today. 8:30 am is when I am supposed to be there. I was originally supposed to be there at 5:30 am but after a few minutes of looking at the schedule the pre-op nurse changed the time. My mother will be thrilled!!!!! ;) Now we don't have to get up at 3:30 am in order to get our acts together. We can sleep in until 6:30 am!!!!!!!:notagree

Monday is only 3 1/2 days away and I can't believe it's getting here so fast. It began to hit me this morning. On the way to pre-op, my radio station previewed a new song off Rasqual Flats new album and it was so sad and touching that I almost lost it on the way to my pre-op. Then actually walking into the hospital and going to admitting was HARD! It meant that this was really about to happen.

I didn't begin to calm down until I made it back to the pre-op nurse. Everyone who ran tests was so nice and explained everything to me. I'm one who always asks questions, mostly because the machines fascinate me and I want to know what they are doing and how they work.

Turns out that I'm not their typical pre-op patient. I actually knew some of the things they were going to run tests for. They couldn't believe that I knew what an hA1c is, that I test my glucose 5 times a day, and take my blood pressure reading every morning. Everytime someone came in to do something or ask me questions, Susan, the nurse, bragged on me. That really helped calm the fear a lot. Just knowing that things were looking good and that there was nothing else going on with me was a relief.

The only thing that I wasn't happy about was the weigh-in. I've been on this diet for two weeks now and even though I'm retaining a bit of water since my period starts next week, their scale was 6 pounds HIGHER than mine at home. I just have to remind myself that scales LIE and that all scales are DIFFERENT. :frusty: I do better when I put on clothes and can see that they are fitting differently, not when I step on a scale.

I think I now have everything that I could possibly need for after surgery. If not, I'll take stock when mom gets here and then we'll make one last run to the store.

:wow2: Somebody pinch me! This is really gonna happen! :faint:

Audra

Oh, and Dana, I'm no longer a hungry raving lunatic. I just hate it when my brain knows that I can't have something so it decides to torture me with hunger pains because it knows I can't do a @#$%$# thing about it.

:)
