HI there, just wanted to say a quick hi, I was banded 2006 but currently not using my band much as a losing weight tool, I have just found out I am pregnant, can I ask if it gets too uncomfortable with the port the bigger you get? I will watch this thread too, hope you get some answers, good luck and congrats of course!

Flying with the band
HI there, I have been banded since April 2006 and work as an international flight attendant. In my experience my band tightens during the flight, especially as they are 13+ hour duties, and can take a few hours after landing to right itself.......I have protein shakes and soup on board to keep up my energy. I have regurgitated a lot of food over the years while flying so just stick to liquids and hummous, hope this helps and have a great flight! XX:teeth_smile:

Traveling Abroad on Mushies - Tips?
Congratulations on your band, and how exciting to be going to France. I personally would get a doctors note for your meds, they are so funny at the airports these days........wow, it is hard when u have just been banded getting used to different mushies and learning what you can and can't eat. Hopefully you won't have an appetite at the moment so won't be tempted by those yummy French delicacies............I don't know much about particular foods in France but am flight attendant for work and always have to look for mushies in certain countries.........here are some things I eat........guacamole, hoummus and baba gounush, soups, cottage cheese, maybe you could stomach some of those yummy soft cheeses up there, put on a cracker but don't eat the cracker..........I carry miso soups with me to keep up my protein, maybe you should take some protein powder with you in your suitcase just in case........... Don;t know if this helps but let us know how you get on, also you should be able to easily have a fine French wine.... Cheers Fi!!!

Flying
Hi Jetti, good luck with your banding, I don't think you should have any problems flying a couple of days after your op. But it is true about the band swelling I am a flight attendant and can only drink watery soups and protein drinks on board, if it is only a couple of days after op, I would try and sip apple juice and water only, during the flight! Cheers Fiona

diet soda
But I have no problems with champagne or beer, depending on the time of day...........It seems to be that everyone is different on here........I was devsted at not drinking beer/wine or being able to guzzle but no probs for me, maybe I am one of the luckier ones Good Luck Amourette

Will I be too sick Post opt to drive myself home 1000+ miles?
If you have an accident or something, your situation and surgery may be a big factor against you, and it isn't hard checking your 'blind spot' and twisting in the seat to do so.................please don't do it...........!:cry

*APRIL* BANDITS May Challenge
Hi all, I am fine, I was just being a drama queen, this dating and trying to keep the self-esteem up when I have to keep selling myself, is just like a endless job interview, but hehe I am ok today.............I have got out Dr Phils book and reading his advice about dating , it is quite interesting. I have been a little worrried about whether I have stretched my band/pouch, how would I know, I think I also need a small unfill as I am struggling with food.........but yeah I am still here and today is a good day, thanx for the advice Julie, I have taken something for years, I think a lot of people on this site probably have, but I wish there was a pill for shyness and confidence, oh well, that is all, I am good and hope you all are too! Hiya all, just a quick check-in...................Kat sorry about all your going ons, my thoughts are with you and will continue to check in here to hear the progress, Eva hope you are feeling better, Boo I have two nights in LA happening in LA but have to catch up with an old friend, how far are you from Torrrence? Well ............life is good, just came home from another date, this dating is getting me down, boy, it is vicious out there hehehehe. This one went well though, ten-pin bowling ( i won't be giving up my day job) and drinks and soup, but he doesn't live close to me, never mind, it is the practice of socialising for me that is important..............I am on call for work, so pick up all the trips that people go sick for........had to go down another uniform size so that is fantastic......only 7 kg to go......yippeeee, found a kiwi thread on here which is great as I tried to find one a year ago........ Love to you all Fiona XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:D :rose: :rose:

*APRIL* BANDITS May Challenge
Hello all, here I am lurking in the background, I just needed a break, no offense to anyone........but I have come to realise I need support and where better to go.........daa daah!!!! I have lost 32 kg, around 70 + poounds, that is good for me as I wasn't too overweight to begin with but enough to qualify for the surgery (self -paid ouch) so I am excited but sick of explaining to people at work about my weight loss, I work with different people every day, for those who don't know ie our new friends from April I am a Flight Attendant in New Zealand, so work with many pretty girls and here they are asking me for advice, don't wanna share though so it is still hard!!! Decided 2007 was the time to go back dating, met someone great, but it wasn't to be, broke my heart, hence a bit of time off here, trying to find and understand myself, have been speed-dating no-one specifically on the horizon but will keep trying, have enjoyed reading all your posts, glad our new friends are here to share, love you all and have been reading about your updates Love Amourette XX

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
Good luck to you all, Amourette here, aka Fiona, don't get too carried away with all these things you think you need, you just need some good old plain soup, apple juice, protein powder is good, but I don't think many of you will use it for long! Just make sure your enviroment is comfy, good dvd's, good visitors, some good books and mental support , that is all really, some get pain after, some don't, I am a big woose and I survived it all!!! good luck to you all, it is so exciting!
